The scope would have performed much better if you read the instructions on how to properly initialize and calibrate the scope. Once you calibrate so it knows where ground is, and zeros out any offset, your trigger will work much better. Also, your vertical display was way too noisy. You need to shield the bottom of the board, and if that does not make the vertical hash go away, I understand that some circuit boards needed a little ground reinforcement to lower the resistance of the ground path between the processor ground and the input ground.
i was also confused about measurement mode.... sometimes it popped up sometimes it didn't.... and i thought my dso138 has problem... but this video helped me figure out the issue
