Marxist philosopher Slavoj Zizek ponders some interesting ideas on a remaking of Star Wars - particularly the prequels. Agree or disagree with his politics and whatever we may think of his ideas, the one thing about Zizek is he's always interesting and thought-provoking - and who knows a remake could be an improvement in this case.
Are you a Zizek fan, a Star Wars fan or both? What do you think of his idea of the Star Wars universe literally being turned upside down? The Emperor and Vader certainly would be Stalinist figures but a force of evil no matter how it's spun. Using raw power and oppression to enforce "order" is evil no matter the intent - good or bad.
Zizek comes out as a prequel fanboy.
They really were no worse than the originals trilogy, for the most part.

looking back at all these images, so beautiful, so imaginative, very flat, 2d like, like paintings or dioramas, which is an ingenious approach to the clearly artificial quality of the computer generated images
diorama is a better comparison, not flat, but depth portrayed with very clearly separated planes, like the effect 3d films have without needing glasses

looking at many of these shots on my lg oled today, they look all so very fake computer generated and flat. That part where Anakin is looking down at the Sand People village looked ridiculously flat. It's like GL didn't even care.
Yes, he definitely relied too heavily on CGI and “fixing it in post”. He might have wanted to make these films but his heart wasn’t in it.

You mean the audio quality or Zizek himself? I cleaned up the audio quality as best as I could, but there's only so much you can do.
I think is completly understandable for most parts, but when you reach something like 15:15 it becomes a little dificult for understand it looks like sound is leaking, floping, I don't know. But thanks again.
Zizek really thinks that people will be able to transform their consciousness into machines, thereby becoming immortal. Which is false.
Where does he say that?
The world's greatest con artist "philosopher", more gibberish spluttering clown than anything; much beloved by luvvies at Channel 4 in the UK, darling of eye surgeons everywhere, who are called every time he's on TV to re-set the eyes of viewers who have rolled their glazzies too far back.
I think he's interesting even though my politics diverge from his. He often makes some very insightful comments and sometimes some very surprising ones.
And Friedman isn't?
Both are spooks, though the Slovenian man is quite a good entertainer, than the milquetoast cucks we have on the triggered left and right.
