I saw Cave In support the Foo Fighters in Cardiff South Wales back in 03 or 04 and fell in love with them instantly. Started trawling through their back catalogue and connecting all the dots to Converge and over the years really digging Old Man Gloom and Zozorba as well as the Clouds stuff, even have the solo Brodsky album.
I ended up meeting him on the street in Brooklyn almost 20 years later while on a family holiday. He was such a nice guy.
It was only after that I realised just how much of an impact he's had on my musical life. The
World is fucking awful in a lot of ways but cool shit can still happen.

"Jupiter" is one of my all time favorite records. Brodsky is an evil genius! Rest in peace, Caleb Scofield

Brodsky man! There’s not one song I haven’t dug in your back catalogue! There’s no one in music history more prolific.

I wonder if Cave In can now be an inspiration for Dave Grohl and find Solace in Heavy Pendulum seeing that you guys have been sort of reborn since the passing of Caleb. Can’t wait to hear the entire album!!

Stephen's musical upbringing sounds so much like mine. Grunge, hardcore, classic rock, etc. I've been a Cave In fan for 20 years now, so glad they have come back.

Great interview. I appreciate Steve's honesty and willingness to share. Had a short convo with him during one of his shows and since I've always been struck by how down to earth he can be while being such a prolific artist. He's always just a good dude. Thanks for this!

Fantastic interviewer, one of the best I’ve seen with Stevo in a long time. I watched two really cringy ones just before this and she blows them out of the water. She gets him talking about a lot of fun little details that otherwise wouldn’t come up. She knows her stuff and is very relatable. Kudos!

I've met Stephen Brodsky twice (one time with Caleb, actually) and he's such a cool dude. You don't see Bono selling U2 shirts, I'll tell ya that much...

Caufield Records! Wow, haven't heard that name in forever. Christie Front Drive were my favorite band on that label. Giants Chair were killer too.

freaking awesome interview, but also freaky how much I share with S.Brodsky musical evolution and story, unfortunately for myself, not so much from the professional/success point of view, but from the melomaniac one

I can't decide whether I like the interviewer. She teeters on being disruptive, and interjecting when unnecessary. Anyway, always great to hear from Stephen Brodsky!!

I’ve always felt the exact same way. I bit cringy and for some reason her volume/mic is always astronomically louder.

I really like her, she is fun and knows her music. She always gets musicians to talk and loosen up. I feel like the interrupting is a result of her being excited and engaged. Cool interview, I'm really stoked for Heavy Pendulum. Jupiter is still blowing my mind!

If I had an imaginary BFF and fantasy band mate, Steve would be it, hands down. But Nirvana is his only oft-mentioned influence I don’t dig. I was 12 when they were big and I ate them up like mad back then, but now I can’t listen them, it feels so stale to me.
