Thank you for the shout out. This is a bottle that I hand pulled from a barrel. They use Irish peat so the profile is different. And ppm is like 10. This one was in a finishing barrel as well a port barrel. It’s 3 years old. I think a mix of virgin oak and used oak. 250 gallon copper pot still. Texas malt. Distilled off grain. 7-10 day ferment. With a am1 yeast and full size barrels.
Really interesting comparison! Great thoughts on tasting! I'm rooting for the single malt scotch versus the single malt from the U.S.!! Just prefer them!! I will try and check out Glen Mosset!! Cheers!
Thanks Christine. If you are not able to get this 2013 release try to grab a cask strength Benromach from a first fill bourbon barrel. I believe there should be some available out west now. Can’t go wrong with the Straths release either. Cheers.
