Finally someone I agree with, Dom is wrong for going public but he’s entitled to his own opinion. However I think DC’s jovial nature is perfect for the commentating booth. Its a great equalizer between Anik’s analytical straightforward nature & Bispings/Doms wit. Joe Rogan serves the same purpose. Paul Felder is a mellow well-rounded analytical commentator as well. DC is also an olympic wrestler, he understands ground game better and explains it well. Dom didn’t think of all of this, its about the Chemistry.
@@ChunkyPuffsRaichuThe issue is this weekend and most PPV is Joe, DC, and Anik. As the only fighter commentating the biggest and most watched fight there is some responsibility to actually convey to new viewers the technical side of MMA. Joe and DC just shoot the shit and Podcast during fights which 1. Doesn't explain anything to new/uneducated fans about how fighting actually works and 2. Draws attention away from the action and to whatever tangent they have gone on
actually it was a tremendous amount of disrespect to shit on your brother to the media instead of keeping it between brothers. Probably the greatest show of disrespect I have ever seen. What are you watching?
DC looked hurt towards the end when even after he said exactly what he though Cruz wouldn't budge. Cruz was wrong and broke the code. Accountability is one thing, attacking a brother's livelihood is another.
@@joshuajarvis993 That's the entire issue DC has. Not that Cruz has criticism about his commentating but the fact that he aired it publicly to a reporter.
DC only knows loyalty, trust and brotherhood. Dom doesn't fully understand these values to the extent that DC does. Dom made statements that went far beyond criticism, like DC is just doing it for a paycheck. Even if DC didn't watch film, Dom could have told him in private, rather than making those statements in public. Dom isn't wrong that DC could probably prepare more and devote more time to watching film, but his approach is unprofessional and a breach of trust/friendship. Also, Dom is not DC's boss lol

In all seriousness Dominic is wrong here. Whatever issue he has with DC should have been discussed privately. This was enjoyable. I watched it twice. I agree with Dom that accountability is love. And yes, parents who love their kids obviously do hold them accountable. However, parents usually withhold stern criticism of their kids behavior until they get back home. Doing it in public could cause some unnecessary embarrassment & anger, which might undercut the message and cause some resentment.
Exactly... the 3 DCs of UFC all are my idols (Daniel Cormier, Dominic Cruz, Donald Cerrone) but i was disappointed in Dominic to say that publicly. I know "accountability is love" but then holding accountable has nothing to do with other peoples, it should be told to the one discretely. Imagine if one of your colleague does it, that's a bitch move tbh.
Cruz has said it multiple times and this wasn't the first time. DC has not improved his ways and Dominic said it this time in public for all to hear. If you don't listen then you need to do something that will make you do something, I think this is a good move from Dominic and shows he cares for DC. DC needs to work harder on commentary, you can't forget fighters names, being biased and don't prepare yourself for important fights. DC laughs his way out of it most times, but it's just not good enough, so very good from Dominic👍
DC is right here. What Cruz said at the press conference could potentially put DC's career as a commentator in jeopardy (even though we all know it won't). That's like your friend/colleague at work talking about how much you slack off right in front of your boss. Also, I think that Cruz is even more irritable than normal due to the weight cut lol
@Kyle 🗿 agreed, but DC's almost unparalleled level of wrestling knowledge cannot be dismissed. He may not always show it, but there are instances where he is able to explain wrestling positions in great detail, and he is able to point out the technicalities of positions that may look very simple or boring to the naked eye
What Cruz said could put DCs career in jeopardy? Just like what DC or any commentator says about fighters puts their careers in jeopardy? DC sucks and some dose Dom.
It's just the same as teammates would in sport. You call them out in the dressing room, not in the media. Whether Dom's comments were on point or not, he should have said them behind closed doors if they are friends.
Someone on Twitter said Bisping appearing in this is like when a character enters the scene of your favorite sitcom. Couldn't have been a more perfect comparison
Dom while he can have his opinion should’ve privately went to DC because they are friends and now broadcasting teammates instead of going public. DC is honestly amazing with how patient he is at times with other people.

@Mr DeShaun Everyone gets to be wrong. Being disingenuous or flat out dishonest however is a choice. Dom's making the right one in my opinion. I happen to think DC also does a great job. Just not the same one and that's for the best.
@Mr DeShaun if you still don’t know what Cruz was trying to say your a moron, look at clay guida last fight dom was trying to make a point that you can tire yourself out by throwing that many ground and pound shots.
@Mr DeShaun Dom has made 1 mistake in 3 years, DC has forgotten the names of the fighters he's commentating and interviewing twice in the last month...
DC and Dom are two different types of commentators. The reason I love listening to DC is he brings things to the same level as me and my boys just watching and enjoying the fights. It’s fun and it should be. With Dom everything is buttoned up, he’s professional and yes that’s needed in commentary. The ying and yang of their two styles is what makes the fights entertaining. If I had to choose between the two I’d rather listen to DC call a fight than Dom, but I don’t watch the UFC to be educated about fighting I watch it to enjoy myself and DC makes the fights fun.
"I don’t watch the UFC to be educated about fighting I watch it to enjoy myself". Thats cool and all but sports commentators are there to explain the sport not crack jokes and podcast to the fans about random tangents
Dom said it himself, DC has that unique and valuable insight as one of the best wrestlers to ever grace the octagon. He does say some a lot of nonsense at times though, let's be honest.
I'm definitely with DC on the courtesy of a friend and coworker. Correct in private congratulate in private. It's one of those golden rules. Dom doesn't mind the criticism in public, he feels it's ok to treat others how you want to be treated which is another golden rule. Different codes, good they can agree to disagree and move past it.
nailed it. i'm on doms side tho, dc lazy af and i just like when him and joe go crazy. Anik the only real trooper who grinds the fuck outta it like Buffer.
I think DC is right about Dom doing it publicly and Dom is right about accountability being love. The moral of the story is just to do it in private. No need to give the media a story to run with that could potentially hurt a friendship. Much love to both guys. Huge fans of both 👊💯
dom just backstabbed or threw DC into the bus, there is no friendship there anymore. Cruz is a dick seriously, who does that? You know ur friend workflow and u go out publicly diss it, instead of saying it private? Its like he wanted to hurt DC, friends dont do that stuff.
Dom is seriously immune to his own asshole nature. For how smart he is he fails to psycho analyze himself and see his own negative traits. Unapologetically himself. It's quite a thing to see honestly. Humans are interesting characters
It only seems that way if you are not listening to the whole of what he said. Dom doesnt listen to ANY commentary. The not watching tape thing is based off a conversation they had. DC doesnt grasp this even after it was said 20 times and it seems you dont get what he was saying either. He never said DC commentary was bad. On the show he said he doesnt listen to any commentary AND THEN he said dc doesnt watch film. We all know dc is not watching FILM on mute in a dark room. DC is getting highlights of fighters. He might watch a few full fights here and there. He is not watching Film in the way Dom considers the term to mean. Nothing he said was mean....
DC, you and your team are amazing for putting this out. I never want Dom to stop being Dom, but the best thing is you guys all get a kick out of it. Shows how you all managed your careers wisely to have this level of good-natured ball busting and presence of mind.
This was unbelievable. Absolutely amazing to watch. People don't need to go overboard & hate on anyone. Just 2 buddies who don't see eye to eye on something.
imagine your colleague talk bad thing about you in office microphone so everyone heard it, i would smack that snake publicly too. Cruz is that one smart ass irritable kid in class
I gotta be real I lost some respect for Dom after watching this. He really was stubborn and unable to see DC's side of things... Yes, you are of course allowed to have an opinion. If i think my coworker never does ___ and it's a problem, I am allowed to think that. However, that doesn't mean its right to bring it up at a large company meeting. If you truly want accountability, discuss it with him privately.

Wow this was so flipping interesting to watch. Two colleagues having a difficult conversation, love it. Don't know if this was planned but in the world of super fake this is what the internet is all about - raw and real.
Two belts is all the preparation DC will ever need. He's observant, charismatic, and funny. Let's be honest, when it is a team of three people on the desk, not everybody needs to be a historian.
So observant that he spent atleast a minute talking about barbershops during a fight last week. Being a good fighter doesn't mean your a good commentator
Nah I'm with DC on this one, and I think he's being as nice as he possibly can be about it. Whatever truth there may be to that accusation (and I do use the word "accusation") it's something that could potentially take food out of his kids' mouths. It's perfectly acceptable for a brother to tell you *privately* that you need to up your game, and honestly I appreciate that kind of honesty, but to put someone on blast publicly over things that are *central* to their career is unnecessary and if he could drop his defensive, condescending tone for one second I think he'd realise that. I don't think Dominick even intended harm, he just didn't think things through.
Dom should be able to say what he wants when he wants. Clearly he didnt care about consequences. If he truly believes accountability is love then he did what he felt was right.
My mind went there too. That commentator job is a huge money maker and reminds people of his brand as a top UFC fighter, so it makes sense he would get way more sensitive about it.
Great conversation. Loved the respect and self-control in a situation that could easily have turned sour. Big respect to Cormier for responding like a gentleman.
I think he had a certain reason in what he said, so much that khabib already admitted after the fight that in the 3rd round he was tired, of course Mcgregor didn't do it on purpose to be on the ground, of course this wasn't his strategy, but he couldn't do anything but defend himself
The people taking this serious are insane, this is the funniest ufc content I have seen in a long long time and seeing DC actually explaining Cruz's Kneepick was hilarious. They're both so childish 😭💜
DC is great with the wrestling breakdowns during the fight and I learn some things from it too. Dom is a hater, he didn't have to call him out in public like that. I would never do that to a colleague that I was so called friends with.
Dan I absolutely value your genius, highly experienced commentary, EVERYTIME. I couldn’t possibly disagree with Dom any more then I do. I just think it's funny how Dom went on about "keeping the heartrate down" during the interviews yesterday and today he had an argument for 10 minutes lol
DC even though you don't feel the need to explain your way of being in regards to commenting in the midst of the constant criticism, this video spoke volumes to people like me who are long time fans that know you are doing what you love at the best of your ability! love from Miami DC!
Dom is just cranky because he's doing a cut and he's about to fight. He's also so direct and unapologetic that he doesn't see anything wrong with explaining what he thinks is true. He does love DC though, he's not lying, but he should not have answered that question with how the media is with this kind of stuff. Also, Bisping is the man.
It’s not because of the weight cut and. This is just how dom is. He might be one of the smartest fighters on the roster, but he’s also one of the least charismatic. Everything he does and says is calculated and in straight lines. You rarely hear him make a joke (if ever).
Dom knows controversy sells. He can say something controversial where people will want to listen and talk about or he can say the same stuff he spent a minute on in this clip 20 times over.
What makes someone think what you just posted and then take the time to type it out and leave it as a comment? You may as well have just sat in your room and blew a raspberry.
I love what you're doing brother! You have such wholesome chemistry with buddies. You got to convince Dom and Bisping to at least do one podcast with you for your channel. What you have is special. This captures something unique that a regular broadcast can’t. Guys chilling, keepin it real, talking MMA, and busting balls.
Dom just sounds so bratty talking like he’s making these comments all based off of DC’s way of calling his last fight…which is a fight he’s salty about in the first place…
Good interview and everyone made pretty valid points. I definitely agree that some things shouldn't be said in public about a friend, close colleague, or a family member. Dominick Cruz definitely crossed that line and it made DC look like he's a lazy analyst/commentator, when he actually does a pretty solid job IMHO. Hopefully Dom doesn't get his Karma this weekend because of it.

Cruz is a bit of a perfectionist. And, he's a bit of an asshole too. It's what makes him who he is.

Also… Cruz is not DC’s parent lol
Very well said. Love them both, Cruz is right but also kind of wrong for airing it out... but still accountability is indeed love.
Exactly... the 3 DCs of UFC all are my idols (Daniel Cormier, Dominic Cruz, Donald Cerrone) but i was disappointed in Dominic to say that publicly. I know "accountability is love" but then holding accountable has nothing to do with other peoples, it should be told to the one discretely. Imagine if one of your colleague does it, that's a bitch move tbh.
That was DC point the whole time
Cruz has said it multiple times and this wasn't the first time.
DC already pulled up on him 😂
DC is right here. What Cruz said at the press conference could potentially put DC's career as a commentator in jeopardy (even though we all know it won't). That's like your friend/colleague at work talking about how much you slack off right in front of your boss. Also, I think that Cruz is even more irritable than normal due to the weight cut lol
No it doesn't
@Kyle 🗿 agreed, but DC's almost unparalleled level of wrestling knowledge cannot be dismissed. It's just the same as teammates would in sport. You call them out in the dressing room, not in the media. Whether Dom's comments were on point or not, he should have said them behind closed doors if they are friends.

This is legitimately some of the best behind the scenes mma related content ever
I loved every bit of this. Especially Mike randomly popping in! 🤣
Dom just sounds so bratty talking like he’s making these comments all based off of DC’s way of calling his last fight…which is a fight he’s salty about in the first place…
Hear me out tho, this video would never have happened this way if he didn’t push the buttons he did
my thoughts exactly. Sounds like a salty emo teenager. So immature
Dom can’t stand criticism. He’s a narcissist.
Dominick is a guy who doesn't argues but debate or discusses on a topic and that's the best thing❤️
He claims that's "friendships" . No, Dryminick Cruz, friends pull other friends to the sides. They don't trash them in public. He's insinuating that DC is Lazy
This felt so behind the scenes and organic! I loved it!
