In Pt.8 of the LAMBO KILLER BUILD | 600HP AWD TURBO HONDA CIVIC - We finally get everything buttoned up enough to take it to the Dyno At PFI SPEED! Everything was looking pretty good but we ended up having an issue with our K24a2 and had to push it in the trailer. :(

Build the crv block forge rods and piston use the k20 a 2 head Rsx oil pump and your good to go you have most of the parts just a Rsx oil pump and some cp piston and rod

I'm sure this one hit you in the chest. You've come this far man don't quit cranking. The amount of work guys like you and Boostedboiz hammer in such a short period is really motivating. I just installed a new ring gear and countershaft, all new ball bearings and seals in the trans out of my tsx after it broke. And right now I'm sitting on a bare y8 block I've gotta get reassembled and installed into my civic before I move in just one month. First experience with engines AND transmissions and I dive head first cause I see you guys do it daily. GL and give her again, if you choose the k20, like you said, the 24 cams are great and you ought to throw them in the k20.

I've never had a stock k24 last more than a few months boosted past 500whp when it's actually beat on like we all do at the track.. I'd love love love to have Brent tune all our cars I've been to three tuners none stay open round me it's scary to go somewhere new everytime

I live in CT and in the part of the state where all those guys grew up and live they sleep very well and comfortable at night trust me lol.

I had my Nova on the Dyno last Monday. it busted off a couple solid pulls at just over 400wheel, then came to screeching holt. on tear down it looks like cam seized. logs show low oil pressure... oops, shit happens... try again.

Keep going! My K20a2 shat a rod at the beginning of the year so I know your pain! Forged internals is the only way in my opinion, a lesson learnt to late for me, I was 402whp lol. Videos are on my channel, once forged it will be an animal.

The car never sounded right to begin with honestly... and you can definitely hear it while it just cruising on the dyno. I'm not surprised that this happened but still sucks to see. You'll come back stronger next time trevor, good luck!

Any chance you fired injector and filled a cylinder with fuel. Slight hydro lock bent a rod slightly. When you where having issues
No, don’t even mess with the rsx k20. Just do like you said, throw some pistons and rods in that crv engine and use all the good parts you already have. That’s the route to go, it will be more worth it in the long run. You already came this far and put alot of good work and parts on this car, please don’t get in a hurry now by throwing a junk motor in it, just to get it going. A little more patience and it will pay off. Then it will be even better than you planned the first go around. Keep up the good work man.👍
Exactly what I'd like to see. Get another K24 block do rods,pistons, and valves with some block reinforcement then throw that K20 head and oil pump on and he can make his 650hp goal easy with a couple hundred Hp to spare and a higher revving engine. The AWD setup is really nice and the fuel system is built for 1000HP or more so like you said why come that far to do a booty engine just be patient and take the little extra time and make something amazing.
If you have a k24 and a K20a2 why not go K24/k20 Frankenstein? Better rev's and you still maintain the 2.4 liter torque.
For sure he's got the winning head and oil pump he just needs another K24 block and some decent rods and pistons to throw in.

Hey I'm new to your channel, I've always wanted to see a build series like this, an AWD K20/K24 Turbo Honda Civic. I really like what you've done and how far you came with this project. The dyno situation is just a setback, and luckily it happened sooner than later plus I really wanted to see this thing made POWER!! Just do whatever u can to see this build to the end...

what i think happened is the coil didnt spark and the cylinder filled with gas and at tdc created a hydrolock and the rod had nowhere to go but side ways or bend and cracked the block

Lean, pre detention . The rod hit the side of the block , the injectors won’t get effected unless there low resistance ,
The scum bags coil packs probably didn’t help
Also if you listen to the video , you can hear that it’s miss firing and sounds like shit from the start

Only time I've seen that false limiter at VTECH on a K series is if there's an oil pressure issue. May have had a combination of several factors contributing to it going boom.
Since you've got to pull the A2 out anyway why not go for a K24 frank build so you've got a fresh one you know you can trust going in there?
You should definitely do a semi build like piston and rods with a block Guard Simple as That
I agree it'll be easier while he has an engine out and he'll have a few less variables to worry about. Plus he'll be able to push that 650hp goal without worrying about the rods with room to spare and if he does the valvetrain he'll be able to rev to the moon as well. As much as I wanna see this project on the road yesterday I'd rather be patient and hope to support a solid build. They've put in so many late nights and hard work that I just want them to be able to turn key and be able to rely on this car.

Stock k24 can be pushed to 700-800 atw they dont last long at all but its possible 600 would be sweet thow

Its certainly pushing it but i have seen a local k20z3 unopened lay down over 600 and lasted for lots of beatings , pulls and strip action

It was Def NOT Brent, All Though I have seen a lot of cars blow up while tuning But that is the risk when people are going for big number's.. I am not a race car driver so to me 250 to 300 horses feels fast as fuc on small cars like these.. What you guy's are doing is amazing BUT The Reality is these cars and these motor's were only meant to put out 180 to 250 max HP on these engines in the first place.. There is a reason Honda doesn't Tune these K series engines from the factory to do more than 180 WHP.................................................................. It's called longevity........ They want the cars to last longer than a couple quarter mile passes or a DYNO TUNE..
I had a similar issue with my 6.0 turbo skyline. Injector stuck open and hydro locked the engine. Trashed block and oil pan. Sometimes the worst stuff happens, but you live, learn and grow!

Go back K24 for sure the torque is worth it and in reality you cant go back to a k20 once you had a k24.
