btw this isn’t the final version of the map, I plan to add space, procedural planets and fix the annoying bright cubemap, also this is very WIP so there may still be bugs and stuff

I can finally use my old extremely fast Star Wars vehicles without them crashing on the border of the map after 15 minutes.
This system really opens up the possibilities for other mods. I for one, for example, will be utilizing this system in my Star Fox mod so we can have actually full sized battles rather than being restricted in normal maps

This map uses a chunk system like games like Minecraft and I’m actually surprised nobody else has tried this sort of system before.

The creator is even working on adding planets, cross border trace support, trees, and a way to make the terrain smooth.
And AI can work cross chunk but it can get a bit broken when its bigger than a whole chunk. like DRB base I,ve seen work across a chunk like seeing, chasing and attacking.
Update: The creator 10 minutes ago added a basic space and planet system

@@nathanielpena5868 he just updated it like 20 minutes ago with planets! although currently there is only 1 as he just added it but you you download the latest version and fly straight up until you reach space there's a planet there.
drgbase NPCs or NPCs that don't require a nav mesh still work!
and there was some talk about having an external module like GWater (made by the same guy) to properly support NPCs!
My mind will be blown even further if it all works!!

I remember decompiling flatgrass and it being almost the map limit. Altho you can get bigger by using some shenanigans and stacking parts of the map on top of each other

These maps would be excellent for rp servers. Imagine how many people you could fit in these maps.
These maps actually excellent for TDM gamemodes, where you can fly on helicopters and etc.

This map somehow resonated with me for some odd reasons, and also good showcase!
This will be a fantastic map for flying planes and such
Now you won't have to worry about hitting the invisible walls
FINALLY YOU COVERED IT! This map can be used to combine existing maps together and I'm testing doing that, so you might soon see a big city combined with another map for example

@@WeirdShower it’s been heavily updated since then, Necros assumed it was discontinued back when it was in a very barebones state years ago
It was roughly 3 years ago, he has made many videos on the mod through the years but in the last one (the one I just mentioned) he rightly assumed it had been discontinued, he also expressed that he would like it to (and that it might) return in the future.
i Just saw this Mod like a Day ago and didnt expect that it was gonna be showcased here in TH-cam.
This is gonna be so useful for nuke testing and airplanes, just imagine the war servers lol would be so cool.
Ikr!!! Massive gunlines of artillery, battallions of tanks, armies of infantry just flooding across the fields and vallies with aerial support overhead. Fucking amazing!

this is cool, it would be good for testing high speed prop cars if the physics isnt too buggy. If things are fine then i would think there would be more giant maps

Hey necros. Just realized this earlier if you go up far enough there are planets. Small. But lots of planets. To get to them faster i turned gravity to -60000 and timescale to 100

This has to be my favourite map, its just so beautiful, and the thought that, somewhere in this map, there could be a massive grass statue or an exact replica of its spawn is so mindblowing. Great review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is actually legit. Im using this to hopefully run a large scale military rp server. Concept of pmcs building bases and defending them
Hopefully this will cause a trend of G mod creators pushing the boundaries of the source engine
if these maps wouldve had proper navmesh then it wouldve been a good way to test extremely fast npcs/nextbots
I can't wait for some kid to tinker with this and create a full-size mountain that isn't technically a hill like most mountains and video games are.
Mountains in real life are fuck off massive and I believe that you might be able to fit one mountain like one true mountain in here.
But who knows I'm bad at math, somebody give it a try, somebody make a mountain range real or fictional kind of realistic with terrain and everything.
Make little caves and nooks and crannies and things like that.
This is basically like GTA San Andreas where the water goes infinite except here with land mass.

The game I am going to refence isn't in source, but this mod does remind me of the game Sapiens. Sapiens is a game that I was most impressed with the world by having mountains several kilometers tall and a planet that is ~1.3x the size of earth... It is talking a while to develop with almost 8 years since the beginning... but I haven't really seen a game like it before. Like Minecraft but with a more realistic planet simulation. (Imagine actually being able to see mountains hundreds of chunks away in Minecraft and having a realistic climate model)
I love the plane and helicopter mods and being limited to such a small space has always limited the fun. The planes work not too bad it’s playable but generally any helicopter commits die immediately after spawning 😂 still a great concept

I've been looking for big maps to use planes since they're usually really fast
This map is how you find the one piece
ı noticed something while playing this map
ı was flying planes from wac aircraft and ı wanted to go as far as ı can
ı started flying from the spawn, after a while my engine stoped working. I restarted the engine in the air and kept going and then it happened again. the engine stops was happening like it is timed, every 30 seconds or so ,something like that. my guess is there is actual Chunks like in minecraft and the game keeps the chunk youre in, alive. if you trespass one chunk to another, it loads the chunk that youre in and unloads the chunk you just get out.
but if youre in a plane, because it resets everything while trespassing, it stops your engine. that was fun by the way
This is perfect for huge LFS fights

issues i found with the map have to do with flying certain vehicles shooting and modded guns shooting any modded vehicles sw bombs teleport with player its not perfect but god do i hope this expands

I don't think flatgarss is biggest map, in my opinion this title goes to v92_toyhouse, on this map livingroom alone is the size of flatgrass

I was on that map and i was driving my simfphys car that i upgraded and it takes 2-3 hours with speed 300 km/h to the end of the map so it's not infinite
2-3 HOURS!? That might not be infinite, but I'd say that's about a trip through NYC and upstate New York!
@@MrLyosea it can be by teleporting player. You are in the position where you have been but the area you see is not the same. That's how it works. I used addon The Heaven Plan and simfphys car and i made the time go faster and i have glitched out of the chunk. My english is bad. I'm sorry if you didn't understand what i said
