I love the charm in the way this chap speaks, every sentence is like a notch or dent in an old tool, showing where it has been and what it has seen.
    Fantastic.

My grandpa made brooms. Still have his winders, broom sewing machine and all the equipment in top of his barn. I am so upset, that I didn't learn this craft from him, before he passed.

    Hello from Norway!
It's beautiful to see how-tos' of old crafts. Thank you so much for sharing. It was very helpful. Some day I might try to make one for myself. :)

Thank you, Sir. Now, I'd like to make a straw broom, but I do not have a broom machine. Instead, I would have to find a way to purchase one of your fine brooms!

I'm from Pennsylvania and we use bailers twine for everything still. it was never stopped being used. all corn, straw, wheat, oats, hay and alfalfa are wrapped with twine and ONLY twine. nothing else.

Well done! I was trying to see how much you are using your feet as you work. My father has similar old broom making equipment and was doing it as a hobby. He was recently in an accident and his legs had to be amputated. Do you think it will still be possible for him to keep using the equipment? We don't know yet, if he'll be a good candidate for prostheses. I'd appreciate your opinion.
