    Thank-you for this wonderful video! My husband was out of town for work, and the washing machine refused to spin. Using this tutorial, I, a non-handy female, was able to change the belt along with my 8-year-old son. It works perfectly, now. You are a life-saver!

    Just wanted to say thank you for posting this video. I’ve fixed a lot of my appliances thanks to TH-cam videos, and this is the smoothest it’s ever gone. Your Speed Queen belt replacement video really helped me and my washer now works a thousand times better. Thanks again! 👍🏻🙂

    My motor was mounted slightly different, and easy to remove. All the other stuff is identical. Thank you for the tip of placing the belt like you did, probably saved me from putting it in and then back out and all the agitation that goes with it.

    Thank you for this video. I noticed my washer making more noise than usual. Upon opening the front lid, I found one of the small washers from the tensioner wheel had broken and was laying at the bottom of the washer pan. I decided to order the belt/tensioner kit and replace all parts (not knowing if the broken, small washer was truly the cause of the slight noise I was hearing or not.) This video make it straight forward to replace the parts myself, and the noise seems to have gone away. Thanks

    Thanks Lorain Furniture and Appliance. Great video. We have no Speed Queen service in our area, so, I had to tackle the replacement of the belt myself. Great instructions. Better than the ones sent with the parts.
    Took me about 90 minutes. I did not have a "retaining clip tool", but, managed to get the clip on using needle nose pliers and a flat head screwdriver. Also, installing the shaft on the idler arm had some type of lock nut and I had to put the shaft in a vise to hold it to tighten the nut.
    Yes, getting the motor back in and screwed down was a little bit of a challenge. But, the machine is back together and our first load spun faster and quieter than it has in a long time.
    Much appreciate the detailed instructions!

    • @doughankins3996
      @doughankins3996 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pulley on the motor is spinning and the belt is the same part number from the one I removed. I can move the belt and pullies by hand. Everything moves freely. When I turn the motor on the motor spins and the pulley spins, but the belt is not being driven by it. It just sits there on the pulley.

    • @doughankins3996
      @doughankins3996 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update!! Found the issue. I had an article of clothing jammed between the outer drum and the inner drum. That is likely what burnt up the belt. It wouldn't drive the inner drum because of the jam and so the motor pulley continued to spin and burnt the belt up.

    I have a Maytag washer exactly like this. I can’t find any model number tags any where(older hand me down) I just ordered a pump that looks the same from Amazon an new idler pulley and belt belt seemed a tad smaller but figured old one was stretched a bit. Put it all back together but now the drive shaft when spinning clockwise goes opposite the little plastick shaft key. Makes god awful noise. What did I do wrong? Is it normal for the shaft to spin counter clockwise then clockwise when entering different cycle.

    Great video.
    I have a commercial Speed Queen with a similar set-up and did almost exactly what you did. Problems started with the fact that I got bad technical advise and got the wrong kit. Just like you talked about, the belt was wrong (too small), but I didn't realize it. Undeterred, I was able to put it on anyway (it was a bear). Wash cycle worked fine. However, the helix at the bottom is spinning and clunking (very fast) during the drain cycle. I quickly realized something was wrong when it started making noise, so I put the correct size belt on, but the problem remains. Any ideas?

    Remove the motor to have to change a belt? Are you kidding me? Wow...what a total pain in the you-no-where. On my 40 yr. old Maytag it's a simple matter of reaching underneath the bottom of the washer and can do it by hand without having to remove a single thing. Nothing like the older stuff compared to new. Bought a new speed queen and after only 2 washes today getting all sorts of error codes and now can't even get it to drain or spin. Am missing the old Maytag already.
