I bought one last year and had no idea how powerful this car is. It is dangerous to drive in sport plus mode, the car almost jumps off the ground and you can have a heart attack.
I have a 2021 M5 and my friend brought a 2022 M550 and used a similar tuner like yours, plus he changed out the rear bumper and put a M5 bumper with dual exhaust. Love it.
100%. Here’s the proof. I actually just bought a m550i over a M5 because I don’t like modifying my car mechanically either aftermarket exhausts. Yes the M5 is the better spprtscar. However, I’m not racing on a track right? Just couldn’t justify it as soon as I heard the sound of this engine stock ❤️
@@Chris-hw4mq nah it’s N63 Twin Turbo V8 is literally identical to the M5 S63 twin turbo V8. That’s why I said id put downpipes on it. But, if I’m not mistaken I believe the N63 is crossplane crank which is why it only revs to just over 6k but sounds like a truck. As opposed to the M5’s raspy high revving V8. Sounds like shit tbh but it’s fast as hell. G30 M550i or the F10 550i sound like monster trucks but you gotta put some bolt ons to really make em move.

I’ve been looking for a used car around $50k or less, but can’t find what I want unless it’s RWD, but AWD is really what I need for winter dd. This car is more than enough power for me, but idk I want something that can keep up or beat a Mustang GT. If 3 mods is all I need to essentially keep up with Hellcats.. With AWD… M550 here I come🤣🙏even if with those mods I’d get to 550hp I’d be beyond happy!
If you look close at 6:10 when he lefts go off the throttle the camera gets thrown back forward that’s how you know you was pushed back on his seat like a magnet from that power
On mine I put the car in manual mode, sport plus, traction off, press the brake pedal hard, gas to the floor til launch active pops up then hold on for dear life..
I have a friend that is a master mechanic for a BMW dealership and he said the V8 in the 550 is a disaster, unreliable and all he does is rebuild failed V8 BMW engines at the dealership. Be sure to make sure you are always under warranty. Watch out for Excess Oil Consumption Fuel Injector Failure Timing Chain Failure Leaking Valve Stem Seals Fast Battery Drainage
This may not be the M5 but let me tell you this is an amazing car and daily driver don’t daily a m5 daily a m550i and you will have fun every single day the m5 is a race car the m550i is the street version with better usability and practicality the m5 is a straight race car you can’t use it’s true potential on the road the m550i is the perfect choice

Nice, its same motor in my 13 650ix. Stock they stuffed the motor with 445hp and 480tq. I have the Dinan tune but its getting an upgraded tune next month by a local speed shop to do the carbahn tune. These engines when done up right are fn beasts.

@sammygingello any honest bmw dealer or expert will tell you that "launch control" will destroy the engine way faster than intended.. don't use it to much.
Idk how I feel about purposefully tuning a car with a hot air vs a cold air intake for sound over performance, definitely won’t be doing the same to mine.
My Acura TLX has short ram air intake j35 v6 I did it to hear that glorious vtec cross over sound take place and dont notice that much of a performance loss. To each their own.

@@AYO_KO My '22 m550i only shows 160, likely due to the 155mph limiter. But, you can code it to show the cluster from an M5 or change the max speed. I bought a little device called ODBLink CX and using Bimmercode, have been able to adjust several things like that, all for about $60.

Google how much HP ac uses...Wikipedia claims about 4hp, but you'll find higher/lower numbers...all less than 10hp . It's not even noticeable in a car with this much power. It helps to know what you're talking about before insulting others.

I drove the S6 and M550i and got the S6 4.0t. Would make the same decision today. M550i is a great car though. Imo the S6 is better.

Stock, the M550i is track-capable. With some modifications, the M550i becomes a PROBLEM on track.

Just ask your BMW dealer to do a Dinan tune, won’t even void the warranty. Took my 2018 to 598 hp for ~$2500. It’s totally worth the money.

@Franz Fanon resonator is the part of the exhaust system that keeps the car quiet. Removing the resonator helps the car sound more aggressive.
