  • For several reasons, Kenya Kwanza did not have the luxury of a binding narrative that Uhuru Kenyatta had thanks to his father's position as the first president and as a supposed anti-colonialist. It still had to pacify the Kenyan majority with promise of services, but at the same time, it had inherited an indebted economy. So what did it decide to do?
