    Some people identify as belonging to tribes that were created by colonialist. Others identify with certain tribes yet from their appearance they do not belong to those tribes. The colonialists came to East Africa at a point where were at nation making and we were poisoned by these new ethnicities that were imposed on us. And I agree with you Prof. A lot of Kenyans observe their traditional culture yet at the same time go to church. For example performing all traditions on marriage pertaining to the tribes they identify with and then later on doing a Christian wedding.
