Interesting fact about the copper/penny one and plants. Roots will not grow on copper or for the same reason! They actually fabricate outdoor pots/bags with copper linings to prevent roots from escaping into the ground!
Some interesting facts, but this video was not well edited. They mention the tabs that push in to keep aluminum foil from popping out of the box twice in less that 5 minutes, why doorknobs are made from certain types of metals, the tab on the rearview mirror, for example. The reasons for margins was mentioned THREE times!
I heard about a study made to figure out why (when geese fly in the V formation) One side of the V was almost always longer than the other. Several years and hundreds of thousands of dollars later... They figured it out. It's because ... There are more geese on one side than there are on the other.
The rear-view mirror tip is wrong. It's just the opposite. The tab is pushed forward toward the windshield for Daytime use and pulled backwards away from the windshield for Nighttime use. Another thing is when adjusting the mirror, always set it to Daytime before adjusting it, even if you're adjusting it at night. In that case set the mirror to nighttime after making the adjustment. If you were to adjust the mirror the opposite way as described in the video, it won't keep an accurate adjustment when you change between day and night settings. Interestingly, later in the video the go over the rear-view mirror again and that time they got it right.
When I read your comment, I had to stop and think for a few minutes to figure out which way was which! Lol. Interestingly enough, a lot of people don't know how that feature of the rear-view mirror works, or that there is more than one layer on the piece of equipment than just the mirror. A layer of glass is also part of the makeup and between the mirror and glass, moving that little tab changes the angle of the reflection coming into the vehicle. Another random fact for the fans! lol.
Back in 1981 my driver taught me about that in my first driving lesson. Many people simply forget it because of sensory overload during those early lessons. My latest car doesn't have the tab. Instead, the mirror is photochromic (or a similar word), which makes it adjust automatically, dimming bright light reflections at night.

You know what, the term ignorance is bliss is in my opinion completely accurate on certain things. I really didn't need to know about red coloring in food or the glossy look to some candies. I could have went my whole life without knowing those things and been completely happy. That's as far in the video I've made it. So I'll probably be posting again.
@22:30 I can hum with my nose and mouth closed for 7.8 seconds. I'll admit it's not long, but it's longer than your posted 2 seconds. With just my nose closed (and not drawing breath) for 35 seconds. So does a compass point true north or south north? My brain still on overdrive making sense after 7 times rewinding it and listening to it again and again
Opposite magnetic poles attract; like poles repel. So the magnetic pole of the northern hemisphere must actually be a south magnetic pole in order for the north pole of a magnet or compass needle to be attracted to it. The northern magnetic pole (actually a S pole) is located some 500 km or 300 miles from the geographic pole. This gives rise to the distinction between true north (geographic) and magnetic north. Google is your friend.
Just ignore it. A compass points magnetic north, which is a relatively useless fact anyway since magnetic and true north are so close. I've done some research on how Earth's magnetic field works, and his explanation makes no sense. The only way I can find that it would, is if the north and south each had 2 magnetic poles. Which they don't, so...
How does anyone know for sure that the inventor of the compass needle didn't use the opposite end for pointing North and just call it N to signify North Pole? That explanation would make more sense to me than calling the North Pole the Magnetic South Pole. Since the earth is tilted off axis how many people need to travel by Geographic or Magnetic North anyway? I always thought that the only purpose for using A compass was to have a consistent reading by which to measure your direction against.
35:25 Funny. I just watched another of these videos which assured us the holes WERE for air pressure. But a quick search reveals that anti-choking is indeed the reason.
Coins have also been given a knurled edge that makes the edge of the coin look as if it has small gear teeth all around. If the coin has been tampered with, the knurling will be damaged and the theft will be easily detected.

The specification _allows_ for holes to be placed a certain distance away from the plug body. These are not used by the normal functioning of the plug. They were used by manufacturing machines to handle the parts automatically and hold them aligned perfectly during molding.
I found lots of helpfull info in your channel!!🤗
Also with plastic wrap: put the whole thing in the fridge and it will come off the roll easily
small detail. Lighting dosnt strike DOWN! t Strikes UP! the light we see is what happens when the electrical current meet. if seen in slow motion you can actually see lightining is lighting from the ground up! Trippy! The way it works is the eletrical current is alreay there before the lightning. Ie people that get struck by lightning have the hair on there necks and arms and such already standing on end. The electric current has already started and then the ligning. Kinda like the fillament in a bulb. the curent already exist and just need the charge to cause the light we see!
you can wash a keyboard in the sink. just make sure it is completely dry before using it.
???😁😄😃🙂☺
why is everyone so obsessed with their keyboard being sterile?
You know what, the term ignorance is bliss is in my opinion completely accurate on certain things. I really didn't need to know about red coloring in food or the glossy look to some candies. I could have went my whole life without knowing those things and been completely happy. That's as far in the video I've made it. So I'll probably be posting again.
The saying is where ignorance is bliss it is folly to be wise.
@22:30 I can hum with my nose and mouth closed for 7.8 seconds. I'll admit it's not long, but it's longer than your posted 2 seconds. With just my nose closed (and not drawing breath) for 35 seconds. Coin edges @23:01 were "worth a clipped coin" or "pinched penny" until they started milling the edges (those are those dents all the way around), making it easier to tell if it had been tampered with.
You're not pinching your nose hard enough. If your mouth and nose is fully close the air can't escape to continue humming
There are several repetitions here, including the thing about page margins, which occurs AT LEAST 3 times.
So what do you do with the slime after you clean your keyboard? I mean, that stuff can't be cleaned. Lol.
It can be.
Very interesting 😊
It is Magnetic South.. Not North
These facts are awesome! I'm always wondering about stuff like this, like why does paper have margins?
Ya, I needed to hear this 3 times just in this video alone in order to fully understand it!
25:06 The way he said Scotland-
Wow that pace is frightening.
Anyone?
Just me? Ok!
30:21 the black grating on your michealwave door
35:25 Funny. I just watched another of these videos which assured us the holes WERE for air pressure. But a quick search reveals that anti-choking is indeed the reason.
I love the phone in the microwave. Best one!!!
ikr what a great idea hopefully your family doesn't use the microwave while it's in there
Or you can just put it on 'do not disturb' or 'airplane' mode..
@@agemothNot the same whatsoever.
Densely packed interesting nuggets of information!
Hey, did you know the margins on paper is there so rats don't eat into the text 🤯
...not sure if he mentioned that little gem.
Coins have also been given a knurled edge that makes the edge of the coin look as if it has small gear teeth all around. If the coin has been tampered with, the knurling will be damaged and the theft will be easily detected.
The issue with a keyboard has nothing to do with the size, how high it is or weird shape. It's how you hold your wrists. If you arch your wrists as you type it's easier on your arm/hands and avoids carpel tunnel.
I've worked on computers since 1974. I barely have carpel tunnel. I got it after I retired, not while I worked lol
Funny I yawned just before you started that section lol
The legs are also meant to keep you the heel of your hand from hitting other keys plus not having to rewrite or erase words and start over
"no one's coming to save you"
Ummm, you did! Just now. it's not in person, and you can't come physically wisk me away , but simply repeating this message in as many different ways as you possibly cat is equal to saving someone.
I'll keep trying, eventually I'll stop chickening out.
Keep going, keep trying ❤
Is it just me or are anybody else notice some of these wore repeated multiple times also great video
The recorder just had to make the video longer. I noticed, it is not you only😁
The rear view mirror tab differs in different vehicles. In Pontiacs, the mirror had a slide tab that moved left to right. The night mode moved the mirror upward, not downward.
Oddly enough, Oreo began as an off-brand copy of Hydrox.
I miss Hydrox, they were so much tastier imo
Marinela fan art is what I'm doing! 🐧🐥
Youre living the dream boy!! 43 mill keep going
Store cottage cheese upside down, too!
To save messiness on hotdogs, put the condiments on, then turn the hotdog over. This puts the condiments against the bread, and away from your face
Dress the bun and then put the hot dog in place. Its easier, keeps everything away, and the pressure keeps things like chopped onions from rolling out when driving.
So many repeats! Plus some that contradict each other like the one about the holes in the pen caps.
first hole was about the back of the pen itself not the cap.
@@JustMe-sh8nd none of my pens have a hole in the back.
@@CarlosArturoVelarde So that changes what been said in the video?
Never eating candy again, thanks.
Great video
Appreciate your efforts
We'd learned in the 1st (2nd?) grade 50 yrs ago that the edges of coins varied from smooth to rippled along with their size so the blind could easily distinguish them. Wondered forever if that's true though ??
BTW: Your videos are great !
No. It's to prevent counterfeiting.
it was to prevent people from shaving off a few cents worth of the nickel or copper material from the coin edges
In 1960's the shirt loop was called a fruit loop. Girls would pull them off a guy's shirt to to "claim him".
True it happened to me
Okay, but that doesn't explain why it was called a fruit loop. Also, mating rituals in the '50s and '60s are insane. Like Betty Jean likes Bobby Ray 'cause she blinked twice, spun 2 times counterclockwise and farted to the left. Had she farted to the righy, it means you're friendzoned.
Over here in Singapore, the cabs are yellow, green and red including black in few places most coming in the Hyundai type for the main green red and yellow, and the black one is called the crysler cab or something but I also saw another black that looks like the hackney carriage
Love the information. However, why do you repeat some information?!? Sometimes triple (margins in paper)⁉️
I thought scientists still havnt been able to pinpoint why people yawn and it’s still a phenomena.
I think it's when people are sleep deprived even a little.
❤️❤️❤️
This is actualy genius

I thought they did? Mice!
