The EP comprises five razor-sharp cuts from the acclaimed producer, DJ, and Surgeon co-conspirator whose laser-focused work ethic reflects the EP’s astrological namesake.
Capricorn Rising is anchored by the record’s most propulsive, trance-inducing cut, “Mass;” an off-kilter conversation between chattering birds and a breathing sample that makes for an otherworldly melody. “I wanted to create a feeling rather than a sound,” explains Martin of the catalyst for the record.
Martin describes the recording of Capricorn Rising as a cathartic process. “I thought of myself as fearless since I have always rejected societal norms and I’m very comfortable expressing ideas,” she offers. “However, I realised I actually had a lot of fear when expressing anything emotional.”
The EP is the outcome of shaking off that fear. Using her feelings as a guide, Martin creates a space somewhere between euphoria, dissociation, and wonder. “This is where I hope to take the listener,” she says.
This emotional liberation peaks on “Reinforce,” which sidesteps towards extraterrestrial acid and swirling, cosmic pads that reach for a new dimension. Meanwhile, “Chapter 23” is an industrial-dipped roller that creaks with eerie atmospherics before erupting into a meteor shower of kicks. This percussive workout continues on “Prism,” which makes a plea for bodily oblivion.
Martin often closes out her live sets with the EP’s euphoric title track; a seamless, starry-eyed slammer that encapsulates the headiness of the Lady Starlight universe. Oiled and limbered for the dancefloor, these are dynamic, teflon-tough techno tracks that deftly align with Martin’s virtuosic hardware performances.

Wow.43years old now,as i was 14 i was at my first Technoparty till this time i was very often at different clubs in Germany like Opera,Distillery in Leipzig,Stammheim Kassel,Tresor the old one in the Leipziger street and the new one.I like Detroit techno and i dont like this new shit with 200bpm and i dont mean gabba or hardcore.I mean the new and for me to fast shit with no soul.And of course i dont mean this Lady with her hot asskicking stuff.Not to fast not to dark,just kicking my ass.Thx a lot for this.🤪👌✌️✌️👍👍

I'm 41 and sometimes go to my local techno club in Rotterdam. At its core I definitely hear those timeless techno sounds and a certain atmosphere :) So beautiful to see several generations enjoying that sound and feeling (even though I'm probably one of the oldest there lol). Same applies to the more cozy summer BBQs (usually going on until somewhere late night with a bunch of people spinning some records) at my local boulder gym. Bit more diverse musical genres but often amazes me
I'm the same age I remember taking e with my school teacher and loads of friends at the kitchen club in Norwich uk , in the 90s I remember the news saying a million people in the uk were raving every weekend

She is one of my favorite artists because she founds a way to express her feelings with techno. Dark sounds with positive energy : this is the contrast very few manage to create. She is able to draw pictures with sounds and that makes her very special for me. Besides, the background of that historical building makes the experience of watching and listening timeless. I can't actually figure out if we are in early 70s or in early 2020 :) Techno has allways the power of rebirth

Elektron Analog Rytm, and Octatrack. Allen & Heath Zone:96. Eventide H9 (I think) and a Strymon Cloudburst. The littler 4 knob thing and that little drum machine thing are beyond me. I hope that this helps!
