dahyun just talked about the writing process of Blame It On Me during their comeback live, she said that she thought of jihyo when she was writing the song and also mina's gesture, aura and her charms just fits the lyrics 💁♀️ the other song dahyun wrote is Crazy Stupid Love, all the members love the song and hope to perform it live
TWICE's evolution has been such a fun ride. They aren't trying to follow any trends or styles and really defining their own sound and colors. I can't wait until the day they write and compose their lead track.
In my opinion, this is twice's most expressive selves as an artist among all their albums. Love the mature sounds and how you can differentiate the variety of emotions in every songs in the album. Set Me Free makes me feel like a protagonist in an action movie. Got The Thrills makes me feel like I am inside a club enjoying and partying. Blame It On Me makes me feel like a rockstar. Wallflower makes me wanna twerk. It's so flirty. Crazy Stupid Love makes me feel like I just came from a heartbreak. I thought Ready to Be won't be able to outdo Between 1&2 but after a few more listen, Ready to Be outdid. It's their best mini album yet. All these tracks are a must see in their upcoming tour, it's gonna be a wild experience.
this is another no skip album for me, I really love every single song of the album. but Set me free and crazy stupid love are my favs so far. ps: dahyun wrote the lyrics for both blame it on me and crazy stupid love...as soon as I saw her name in the credit I knew those would be smash hits
Jeongyeon reminding us all of her amazing vocals. Even with Jihyo's powerful voice and Nayeon's range, Jeongyeon just has this amazing tone. I love the rock vibe they are going for, Queen of Hearts was my favorite song last album.
I think Set Me Free was written in English and translated into Korean, which is why it works so well. I think some of the others were too-I Can’t Stop Me, Cry for Me and More & More. Anyway, Wallflower and Blame it on Me are the standouts of the new tracks. And my bias Dahyun always coming through with her great lyrics 😍
As a long time twice stan, let me tell how insane this album is they definitely were serious when they said they are going to break boundaries in kpop and they will keep exploring new genres
The only bad thing from this album is how short it is 😭 I also wanna thank you both for really focusing in each individual voice and reacting to it, makes the video more enjoyable to watch!!
one strength of Twice is that their albums are very cohesive and concept driven. You can really feel the genre theyre going for each comeback and not just because of the visuals that comes in the photos but also the musicality of it. I get that it can be overwhelming given their massive beautiful discography, but if you guys could react/listen to an album as a whole you'd appreciate the b-sides more. you can start with mini albums since their full albums are a LOT. Taste of Love & Between 1&2 are just samples of their very distinct cohesive mini albums. anyway, see you the Twitch later!
I was hoping for that one too. I thought that was the reason why they had the English version for performing it in USA. The set me free eng version hits different
These are my exact reactions. 😩 The album is so gooooood!! I really like how if you don't know Korean and English, both SMF version would sound so similar. But with the version that you understand it sounded better. The teams behind really did amazing with the translation. 10/10 album ❤️
I feel like Twice and producers discovered harmonies for them (not like 20 layered ones Ariana Grande style or belting ones Mamamoo style, but simple ones that fit the mood and the build-up). Dahyun and Jihyo harmonized on the second pre-chorus in Set Me Free, there are a bunch of Momo-Jihyo harmonies in different songs and other members harmonized too. It's unfortunately not shown in these videos, because the creators rush to release them as fast as possible and sometimes can't even really distinguish betweeen the voices and thus make mistakes or simply don't care.
Everytime they drop something m like this is their best album and then they drop another no skip album... M so glad for the amount of absolute bangers we get.. Once u stan Twice there's no regret coz there's abundance of bangers from all different genres so it's like something for every1

I'm really digging that fusion of 80's electronic bass beat & disco strings on Set Me Free, and that straight-away rock feel of Blame it on Me. Would love to hear them explore these underrated styles some more! Honestly, Blame it on Me has got me wondering if something like the (gasp) 80 hair metal sound with their top-notch vocals would actually work!

So, I feel like Mina is now officially apart of the vocal line with Jihyo, Nayeon and Jeongyeon, and honestly Tzuyu is gonna slide in there as well, but honestly all of them are great.
Few people agree with me, but just listen to how perfectly the voices of Mina and Dahyun are combined! and if they are also joined by the voice of Jihyo, then this is generally an ideal trio.😭 especially the parts where Mina, Dahyun and Jihyo sing one after the other in the songs Crazy stupid love and wallflower🥺
jeongyeon is forever my favorite voice, unfortunately she got the least lines with momo in set me free and is 7th in th whole album while being so good and the LEAD SINGER, that makes me so mad, jyp doesn’t want her to shine, nevertheless she still took my breath away
The amount of lines someone gets and people who complained about it never got me. Just because someone has x position doesn’t mean they will always get the lines. Do lead singers typically get many lines? Yes. And it could be seen as unfair that Nayeon, the other lead singer gets way more than her counterpart, and even more than their main vocal, Jihyo (in their more recent songs). But for me, the line distribution should be about who gives the most IMPACT and meaning to the lyric. For example, the chorus of Wallflower is really well suited to someone like Mina, with her deeper yet soft register. Hits hard. Jeongyeon’s voice is amazing, but it’s not going to fit everywhere. She’s like 7th in line distribution for ‘Blame it on me’, but the lines she got? Absolutely killed it, and is my favourite part of the song. Could she have stood to get more lines in ICSM, for example? Yes. Nayeon singing the opening and all 3 choruses must’ve been exhausting. Her voice alone is almost a whole minute long in that song. However, given that Jeongyeon’s voice was scarcely used up until that point, the impact and payoff is that much larger, making it most people’s favourite part of the song.
This mini album is definitely on the chiller side but I would say their last 4-5 minis and fulls have been pretty mature. But this one in particular explores a lot of styles that they haven't done before. Blame It On Me was the furthest they've gone into outright rock. Still haven't pinpointed exactly what style Wallflower is though some people have pointed out it sounds a bit like Rob Thomas - Lonely No More. And Crazy Stupid Love is straight up reggae. Some similarities to Wonder Girls - Why So Lonely (senior group from JYP). Standouts for me were probably Blame It On Me and Crazy Stupid Love.
