    My Dad rolled a Farmall M in 1956. Broke his back and lost sight in one eye. Set him up for a lifetime of back pain and migraine headaches. He farmed another 50 years because he was a tough old buzzard.

    You asked earlier why folks watch you, especially non-farmers. I'm older than dirt and on fixed income. I'm learning about the 'fly-over' people some politicians don't like. Everyone needs to appreciate the difficulty in modern farming. I couldn't do it. Most cannot. I believe our future weather is written in the history of ice cores and in our colder sun as it loses its spots. How well farmers overcome our adverse weather IS my future. You're about dirt, technology, capitalism, strength in adversity, planning ahead for next year, family and generosity.
    God knows your name. I watch and marvel.

    • @farmerboybill
      @farmerboybill 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wider footprint. With a four wheel machine, the front wheels lead the rear wheels. With one in the front, the weight is spread across the the entire path of the machine, spreading the compaction out. I believe it was also supposed to make for a tighter turning radius, but it sure made for a looooong machine. The long machine made for a pretty smooth ride, though. I ran an 8103 Terragator in the oughts. Went on much steeper ground than this.

    Couple of observations. For one, you guys bring out the cavalry when recovering equipment! Here, we let it sit for a few days, and then start small, and if it's still stuck a week later, we can start bringing out the big stuff. Usually a trackhoe is the go-to. Second, be careful about torqueing that front end loader! You don't want to twist those things and that's about a $10,000 loader to replace. As always, enjoyed the video!

    You I’ve noticed y’all all run street tires up there! Every truck in South Georgia was mud tires on it and we don’t get snow and ice!! The moral of the story we may have torn the field up but we wouldn’t have been stuck!! Thanks for sharing Zach!!

    The Chev got stuck and the Ford got stuck
    But the Chev unstuck when the Dodge showed up

      We'd pull one truck out and get another stuck in,
      And motors would roar and tires would spin.
      We'd sink right down, down to the diffs then all take turns and do it again til no one could move, call one more friend.
      Come on out here we need ya....... bring your truck.

    For your teeth grinding, go to your dentist and ask for a mouth guard to prevent teeth grinding. I’m only 30 and have already had 3 gold crowns put in from incessant grinding. Should’ve bought the mouth price I have now 15 years ago, now I sleep like a baby and no more headaches in the morning. Mouth piece was a fraction of the cost of 1 crown, highly recommend!!

    Observation: on the 'red thing': Too NARROW of a footprint on the ground, and a top heavy load. When being pulled back upright, notice at what angle that the machine wanted to roll on it's own, back upright. Not very far..!!! Another great 'Personal' video by Zach, and edited by Becky. I felt like I was right there with them. Waiting for the next one.... Hello from East TN...

    2017 was a very bad year for grain farmers here in Sweden. We had a wery wet summer and autumn followed by a really hard winter. So a lot of the grain in the northern half of Sweden was mostly not possible to harvest because of the snow and the problems that the combines froze up. But one farmer in Västerbotten figured, what if I could melt the snow in the combine? So the guy went to town and rented a industrial hater/dryer and a generator, strapped those on he's combine and harvested all of he's grain like that. The modded combine was brought up in an article in the Swedish farming mag ATL the seventh of December 2017. So you can see he's old yellow New Holland combine whith the blue dryer and pipes on top of it.

    WOW it is so nice to see something good on TH-cam and place of a bunch of B S. It has been a wile since I have been a round farm equipment. (1985) I did get to use a 8 wheel articulating J D tractor big in it day and a 3 and a 5 wheel Taragator. i can under stand why the Case fell over. I would never by a three wheeled machine like that they are so unstable. You may not remember the Honda BIG Red but they had to stop making them as they were so unstable. Keep up the good work.

    You have always asked for non-farmers to introduce ourselves so I figure this would be a perfect opportunity. My name is Trent Jr and I run the Plaza Towing TH-cam page here from Indio, California. We perform uprights of many different types of vehicles as well as tow them. We also transport lots of green equipment and dont know what red equipment really is. I have always been fascinated by farming and truly enjoy the content you put out sir. It is extremely informing. If you were wondering at all about the upright process, it appeared to me they had the wrecker on the top with one winch line ran to the dozer as a redirect to get a downward pull and the skid steer with an attachment called a winch box with another line. Both lines would be "spiking" the units low-side tires into the ground forcing it to rollover. Luckily those boys had gravity to bring it to a nice easy landing. Feel free to check out some of our tractor transport videos such as this one th-cam.com/video/yE3wuhvSgco/w-d-xo.html. Keep up the great work!
