I drank these back in 1979 at Trader Vics in Vancouver BC I am so happy to find the recipe! it was an actual real pearl, which I still have lol! Thankyou! 😊
Spike, Thanks so much for basing your Breezeway Tiki Mug after one of Leroy's tiki's. I was so bummed out that they closed their shop this week for good and that I never got to buy one of their smaller Tikis. Man I'm going to miss visiting that place. They should turn it into a museum.
The gardenia pedal with the pearl makes a beautiful garnish. Those stemmed Trader Vic's glasses are my all time favorites! I really wish someone would accurately recreate them. Your Steve the Bartender impersonation is spot on (not that I watch any other TH-cam bartending shows). ; )
That looks like a good drink to try at home. But since I'm not a tiki purist, I would probably serve this drink in a margarita glass, adjusting the size of the drink to fit the glass, if necessary.
Another great episode, Spike and Co. Great job! Your cocktail videos are so relaxing and intriguing. Who does the music during the ending sequence of this video? I dig it. Is it by the same band who plays your theme music? Cheers, and Happy Holidays 🎄🍹🍹🍹🎄
Another great, entertaining video. 'Dreamsville, man! :) I have an unusual request: In a future video could you show us the surrounding area outside of your breezeway? I'm asking because I was curious as to why you have a lot of traffic nearby while you are trying to create your videos.......just curious............thanks
@@BreezewayCocktailHour bummer, dude. :( Maybe there's a way around that restriction.....like mentioning the links in your actual video so people can look it up themselves? Just a thought....
@@BreezewayCocktailHour You got me on Luxardo cherries for my tiki mocktails and there great. Spike, your videos and mixology are great. Thank you for your knowledge and beautiful neato guests. :)
Cool looking glass. Maraschino liqueur is always an overpowering taste to me. I’m not a big fan. Hemingway used it in his somewhat odd daiquiris. Any recipe that calls for it I reduce by 50 to 75% and increase the other alcohol - usually rum - proportionately.
Same with me. I can always taste it in any drink and it just ruins the drink for me, even if it has the tiniest amount in it. The only drink i like it in is a Last Word.
Every time you use maraschino liqueur you comment on how nasty it is…Spike, use a good one, like Luxardo cherry liqueur. PS it will get the color right as well.
Rats are the worst. I had one chew up all my car wires and I didn't know but then when I pressed on my brakes my wipers would go... So I got it fixed. Between that and the ants it sounds like maybe it's time for a guest who also does pest control. Bonus points if it's a hot chick. Slow mo hot chick pest control next time.
This might be the prettiest tiki glass and presentation yet!
It's so nice, isn't it??
Still the best bartending show on TH-cam. Love learning about the glassware and the history of the bars.
Thank you so much, Cody!
I don't need you to have hot Chicks. I recommend you plant the Gardenia in a shaded area. Thanks Spike.
Ah, thanks for the tip!
Love these obscure cocktails and the original glassware
Thanks!!
Good call on the Arthur Lyman vs Martin Denny. Arthur’s music is a bit more cool and laid back. Perfect for a date night at Trader Vic’s in ‘62.😎🗿🍹
Totally.... but don't get me wrong, I loooove Martin Denny.

Joy and sadness with the thought of getting my BCH mug modeled after one of Leroy’s designs. Gonna miss OA.😢
I'm gonna miss OA so much!

A museum would be amazing!
I think this drink is one for the Ladies! Spike, I think you should have had one of your beautiful friends model this drink!
Yeah, this drink would be amazing with a model.
Loved this episode, so rad!! Thanks spike!!!

Hahahaha... thank you, Alan.
Reminds me of a Hemingway Special without the grapefruit juice. (Also lol @ the Steve the Bartender shake'n'smile.)
Great tasty nostalgic drink. Can't believe they gave a real pearl with every drink. well done!!! Thanks Spike!
Yeah, I guess pearls aren't that expensive??
Spike I love the show. I talk about it so much to my girlfriend that she ordered me the cocktail hour mug for our anniversary
Hahaha... well, thank you. And I'm sorry that she has to hear about the show so much! 😂

I think a margarita glass would work great 👍
Great show man. Everyone likes corks. Aloha and I hope you have a great weekend.
Hahaha... thanks!!
Pretty simple for a tiki cocktail. Kinda like a light Hemingway Daiquiri, hold the grapefruit.
Another rad episode Spike
Thanks for the comment!
Great one! Mahalo!! 😎🌺🌋
Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the show, dude!
Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the drinks
Love your content! Would be nice if you could show a little more detail.
What do you mean by that? Like more close ups? And thanks for the comment!
exactly, more closeups :)

I always find my music on epidemicsound.com the intro music is by the Black Flamingoes
you da man. thanks for this one.
Thank you!!
The ceiling foliage strikes again!
Always trying to take over the show!

Yeah, I'll have to do that soon! It's just a residential street but the Breezeway is literally the breezeway between my garage and my kitchen.
Since Haylee is rejoining The Hula Girls for NYE maybe you could get her to stop by The Breezeway.
Ah, maybe!
FYI: The tiki mug purchasing link is dead.
I think TH-cam prevents linking?? :/

You mentioned vintage tiki music...how about playing some during the tasting segment to recreate the feel?
I just said to my family that the drink was waaayyyyy too small and then you said it too! 🤣
Hahahaha... yeah, it is waaaay too small!
Any chance of another visit from Pin Up Palmer soon? She’s the ginchiest!
I'm sure she'll be back eventually. I can't keep her away! 😂
Hey dude! Great show. I bought your tiki mug. Do we know when they'll start to ship?
Thanks! Probably after the New Year.
Aloha Spike.
Aloha!

I'm for them. 😂👍
Other cocktail channels make Tiki drinks. Spike's Breezeway lives Tiki.

Ah! That's where I remember it from... the Hemingway Daiquiri!
No love for Les Baxter?
Haha... I love Les Baxter too!
Oh no! Sorry about your mugs dude!
Thanks!! Damned rats!
Dang I forgot I wanted to order that pecker guy from Oceanic Arts
Yeah!! The pecker guy!
Where’s all the hot girls that dig corks??
Seriously!

Very cool glass! But not very practical for today’s pours🥃
Totally agree
