1. The lasers only hit you if you are within a certain proximity riding a flying mount. Easiest way to get to island is to fly high & close to it with jetdragon, then hop off in air when the lasers are starting to activate, glide the rest of the way onto the top platform. (If he's experiences lasers hitting him when riding hangyu, then its a pal thing, he'd be better off using a regular glider, as lasers wont target him with it) 2. there are 4 big chest locations, not 3 3. Small chests are absolutely worth it, they are another great source of crude oil & are the only possible way in the game aside from mods to obtain legendary armour. 4. you're best off to have multiple grapple guns with you when running through the stronghold to mitigate cooldowns (if you're trying to speedrun without bothering with enemies) 5. Bring a Dogen, or homward thundercloud with you to leave faster when you're done. I just timed a run with no speed up mods; took me 3 mins & 11 seconds from the time I fast travelled to Marsh Island to the time I returned back to my pal base (All big & small chests were collected) *Source; someone with no life who has completed oil rig over 100 times*
just use a recording tool, make it silent and write in the titel your route. you dont need any fancy stuff or to talk. i would like to see your route too.
If you have stamina turned up in game settings or you breed a Jetragon for speed and endurance then you can fly very high up and drop straight down to the water without getting shot by the lasers. Then yiu can fly up through an opening in the floor straight into one of the rooms where a chest is spawned. Grab it and drop back to the water, shoot straight up and you’re out of there. The other two spots are a bit more work.

u can climb on the bottom of the rig and open the chest through the floor and u can move ur camera to see through the floor and see al chests and u can see the glow through the floor
The oil rig is not that difficult, no need to waste your time on sneaking and locating the big chest, just go in guns blazing and get all the oil and xp from the kills, plus all the purple chests are not worth skipping as they can also drop yellow blueprints. I've never died on the rig tbh.
I prefer the sneaky approach. I've died plenty of times on the rig, at first cuz I wasn't sure what to expect and then when I make stupid mistakes. I'm more likely to get ahead of myself and get shot down because somehow my so-called jet couldn't move fast enough.
Depends on where you are at the game. I got a new save file since the update and I kinda need to sneak around so if I don't wanna die. Imo, 5 ancient core for IV glasses is ridiculous. If only mods weren't broken for my game.
Yep I farm that oil rig too. Land kill everything loot all the chests and leave get around 250 oil. The loot from that big chest is pretty random sometimes I got 5 cores other times I got 1 or 3 same thing with the amount of oil. Did get a legend assualt rifle first trip was pretty stoked. Definitely worth killing and looting everything though
6:39 this is why I like to have a Lyleen because they can kill you 1,000 health if you're low on HP and even more if you start condensing it with the pal essence condenser
As someone said already, there are four spots. Just go in with a rocket launcher. Learn where the guys are and shoot a rocket into the floor underneath them from the water. You will one shot all of them and the alarms will mostly not sound. I sometimes make back my rockets from the loot and then some.
I’m thinking about buying this game . Hesitant though as I cannot stand games that are really easy . I used to play ark . Played on hard level and it is still to easy . I’m hoping there is a tough mode for this game that is actually tough . Example , this oil rig . To many ways to easily get through this from videos I’ve seen . Should toughen this oil rig and require everything taken out to unlock all the chests .
You can setting the difficulty into crazy difficult if its your thing. There is slider to get your damage and opponent damage higher or lower. They make the game so we can enjoy it the way we want to. The game will be a hard core souls like if you crank up enemy damage. And there is pals with passive to buff players stat so you can do stuff souls style.
@@bdycouver let your game on over night if you have raids off or build a farming base for that on a mountain where they cant raid you, you can even stay at a safe spot like a city since you wont die of starvation and raids only happen when you are at your base.

You can't breed for Jetragon
You can, you just need more jetragons.

I find that doing this means Jetragon runs out of stamina before I can get to the rig. Sure, Galeclaw gets me the rest of the way, but still.
For anyone struggling to get to the rig, I just swim there on the back of a Jormuntide and no lasers detect me at all.

There is a 4th spot where the big chest can spawn, on the map you have shown ist right under Treasure 1 and one floor higher than it
Also the small chests are 100% worth it too to get since you get the legendary armor scematics only from them
