That is how one builds a chair that will last hundreds of years. Those joints are incredibly strong. Unless one has assembled such well fitted mortise and tenons he does not know their strength. What a pleasure this project must have been as a furniture builder. It contains so many varied joints, it is a real test piece.

Rather than say '玫瑰椅', it is more like '禅椅'. '玫瑰' comes from '美闺', means this type of chair is made for unwedded girls, there is no reason to be that big. And 禅椅 is made for your crossing legs on the chair.

10 out of 10 for skill and finesse, ditto for knowing what joinery methods to use in the first place let alone being able to execute them so precisely, and kudos for showing the time you take in contemplation. I can see this piece in pride of place in a successful person's beautiful home in 500 years time - revered for both its beauty and for the soul you have passed to it with your love.

Yeah chinese propaganda at work. They trained this young man specifically to get naive responses like yours. Do you think he can have $100,000 of machines equipment shop by selling high end furniture in China. Impossible he could never cover his cost. This is state sponsored and the goal is international internet propaganda to change the perception of what chinese manufacturing really is : crap.

Not really. I have many of these pieces, and they are ok strong, but not stronger than modern glue.
It's against the notion of consuming economy to build such durable chair

如果椅子不好坐 就不是好椅子 結構若都是直線就談不上復古 扶手比例和椅背不合 沒有冒險精神的設計 只能是匠

In most time, if you want the wood chair to be durable, fish glue or hide glue is essential.
