This is the best video on TH-cam for replacing timing chain guides! Really appreciate your hard work. Is there a way you can upload the full video without edits ? I want to tackle this job and was hoping you’d have the video for taking apart the top as well.
To remove this you gotta remove that and to remove that you gotta remove this 😂 gotta love it man lol
e39 rear struts are also quickie magic😅
Awsome job most informed s62 video on youtube top job 👍
Appreciate you! Stay tuned because there's more parts to this job coming!
@@YEVSBUILDS looking forward to it pal i work at a bmw specialist in the uk and we use hack engineering alot for our bigend bearing and vanos rebuilds got a good relationship with ben
Awesome work! It's about time someone did a clear S62 timing chain guide video. Many E39 M5's are getting to the age where this repair will be needed so good on you for sharing this helpful content. A couple of questions: Does this job require front bumper removal and was it doable with jackstands and no lift? Thank you and looking forward to the follow up S62 videos!
It doesn't require to remove the bumper but it will definitely make it easier. I did it all in my garage on jack stands haha
Great video. How can I get a TIS workshop manual for this kind of job?
Where did you get those parts from? The lower guide passenger side

How did you rotate the exhaust camshaft to release pressure? Mine has no place to set the wrench, thanks.
A regular wrench I've realized also didn't fit in my application. I used an adjustable wrench and it worked just fine.
Green coolant? Def got the “autozone special”
Hahaha right? Previous owner definitely didn't really care for this car. You should see it in person: many little things like that that are just half-assed..
What to do if i cant lock my camshafts in top dead senter? On te passanger side i got to lock them but on te driver side they are just a tiny tiny bit off and i cant rotate them further
From what I know, that's totally fine. As long as you can see the notch of the cams in between the slits.
How long did it take you to rebuild all this?
If I had all the parts I needed right off the bat and nothing was being delayed, probably a little over 2 full days or so. It's hard to tell considering I didn't have all the parts right away and shipping delays haha
@@YEVSBUILDS I extremely appreciate the response. One more question, are there any special bmw tools required?
@@jath0422 BMW always has special tools haha but for this job the only "special tools" you'd need are the cam shaft locks, which as you've seen I used regular bolts.
Nice dude good luck for you ;) like your vids
Appreciate you! Thank you so much!
Love it
once the valve covers came off😮
that engine's been scrapin by with 10-15K mi oil changes😢 definitely not ideal for the timing tensioner. that thing must've been gunked up and retracted
are you sometimes not from Russia or Ukraine?
I was born in Belarus
