Saxe-Coburg and Gotha only suceeded the house Hannover in 1901 becauser of queen Victorias husband. Hannover is the correct one for EU4. However, Brunswick or Lüneburg would be the more flavorful though.

In order to take Calatayud and Teruel you had to take Castellón as well, which is an awesome bonus to your goal becouse Peñíscola (in that province) was the residence of Gregorius XIII (Yes, Antipope) where he lived and supported his claim protected by Aragon until he died. So absolutetly perfect and coherent with your roleplay :)
small hint here hawk: if u fight a reconquest always select your wargoal by clicking on it on the map and the remaining cores by using the "give core back" window. That includes the cores of ur other subjects. No unjustified diplo costs and less warscore cost if I'm correct. (36:50) Still great video; have fun watching u play!

I know he's said in the past he doesn't care about it, but every time hawk does a reconquest war and manually clicks on provinces instead of using the return core option. You can get MORE provinces with war score and the enemy nation LOSES their cores when doing so!!!

Since Catherine the Great was from the same dynasty as the rulers of Saxe-Lauenburg how about you form Russia? Also since she was technically descended form the Anhalt ruler you should conquer that too just to assert your dominance.
With Sar-Pi and Lotharingia I've had such runs. Basically countries with great ideas but by the time I form them I could have done something more meaningful. Nice video though, first time seeing Ottos allying Hungary AND Muscovy. France + Ottos happens like half of my games in recent patch

Slight missplay on Provance in my opinion. If you can nab one province to release the from before burgundy and France kill them you can release them again, they will get avignon from pope when they improve which they do instantly and then feed them Corsica, that ticks of mission to give them cores on all Naples. That's half of Italy for like 14 AE. I've been doing it with almost every nation I get a chance with.
its a good opening for any nation close to the italy region, when i play as Milan/florence i always do that, dunno why not many streamers do that, being such a powerful tool
y'know thinking about it, once you get radical reforms, what's the point of firing and re-hiring the two advisors? Unless they're 50% off advisors, the inflation reduction guy is pretty bad compared to the tax and production advisors, heck even if you keep him around for years to avoid one inflation reduction click, a stability cost advisor would probably save you more admin mana. The Trade advisor is good, but only late game. Early game you want relations or diplo rep.

I think in the Reconquest CB wars, the war score for province return (through the menu, not direct transfer + conquer) is reduced. Maybe you could've gotten the entirety of Gascony and Occitaine + Spoleto
You should use the threaten war feature more in your videos. No need fighting a war just for Avignon when the Pope will give in to your threats most of the time

About the naples strat, not really, the best way to go would be to vassal provence, fight genoa for corsica and give it to provence, that would give full cores on all naples for provence, easy war with 0 AE, standard opening for Savoy
As Saxe-Lauenburg you should get your dynasty on every major European power with over 100 dev by age of absolutism bc every political dynasty in Europe today can trace their lineage back to that area

Depends on when, sometimes especially early on your vassals have a little bit more pwsc reduction so it's better to give directly

It even takes less clicka because you don't have to transfer occupation to your vassal.
Merchants improving relations is huge early game in italy. A must imo. Recommend it on your next run hawk if you didnt have it going already!
