Yugoslavia had a civil war because you joined the Axis. Yugoslavia has a sprit called "Anti-German-..." something like that, which means if they have that spirit and they join the Axis they will get a civil war
@@exeticm4k You can puppet every state of Ethiopia to then integrate them after they have done the economy focuses so you get some extra factories but since you are going to core the entirety of Europe you really don't need the extra factories as you'll probably have around 700 factories at the end of the conquering
Fun fact: the 2nd Italo-Ethiopian war on Hoi4 tutorial are WAY harder than the 1936 start because you will start with no assigned military factories and you have to start gun production with worse production efficiency.

30:49 - I recently played a game as France to get the "Vive le France"-achievement (easy, but kind of tedious to get, I figured I might as well), I got the Italian puppet event, and after the Germany was capped, so during peace time, Sicily rebelled twice. Not a big issue, fast to clean, and I annexed Italy soon after the second civil war. My only theory is that, as your puppet, the new government doesn't get all of the cores. So some of the territory counts as occupied, event though it really shouldn't. Or, if the puppet tries, for whatever reason, to go down a different ideology path than your country, that fires a civil war. Since it was an Ironman game, and I annexed them I can't verify if that's what happened, but it seems they seem plausible. something to keep an eye on in future games. Good job as always, really enjoy your videos.
I tried doing this btw and had the most insane game. For some reason, Germany declared on the US and USSR around the same time. I may have conquered France too quickly (Germany hadn't even declared on Belgium yet and that may have messed up the AI a bit. But anyways, I ended up taking out Germany and was at war with Japan for a bit. Then, for some reason, I got a peace conference with Japan included for free?? So I basically took everything. Then, I noted that it was basically just the US and USSR left. Since it was only like 1941, I thought it would be best to deal with the US right away. So I set up and start my invasion, and it's going well. But then suddenly, the soviets declare on my Japanese puppet and I get pulled into a war (basically no troops on the border with the USSR). I scramble to get units out and use my colonial troops to try to minimize the damage. It gets really bad as the soviets pour into Germany, the balkans, and the Middle East. The colonial divisions are no match even with my air superiority. So eventually, by around 1943-44, I take out the US. but by then, I have basically been pushed all the way out of the Middle East and only have a small force in Constantinople. The western front is somewhat stable but I am basically stuck in France and northern Italy. As a result of losing so much territory, the civil war broke out and the other Italy had like 250 divisions on its own apart from the soviets. Once the American armies got back to Europe, I starter pushing back. It was brutal but I eventually took out the soviets by 1947. I think I inflicted somewhere around 25 million casualties on the soviets and another 7 million on the Italian puppet in that last war. Most insane game of my life!
Discovering Your channel helped me discover once again joy of playing this game to the point I am not paying enough attention to my studies, don't know if I'm glad or sad because of that
Also a bug to watch out for that i didn't see get mentioned, but i saw that even in the end was there with yugoslavia. When you annex a puppet while building in them to lower their autonomy, that building "order" will remain in the queue after you annex them, building in a country that doesn't exist, with the civs being assigned to them, while not actually building anything. You can fix it with deleting the construction from the queue. On the newest patch i tested this now, you wont be able to lower the level of the construction to reset the order and not build it in a non existent country, it will just automatically delete it aswell, with the progress already built up to it, so you lose the progress anyways. If you want to min-max and keep the factories or whatever you'll have to wait for it to finish construction, before you annex the puppet. But I remember you could just reset it with lowering the level of the building and you would keep the progress.
All correct except one thing: if you have more than 1 building slot in that state, you can just increase or decrease the amount of factory and the bug will disappear without losing you the building progress.
Yeah that's what i remembered aswell and I know for a fact that i did this in the past, but I went ingame when i wrote the comment to test it just to confirm it and when you decrease it and unpause, it automatically deletes it from the queue. It is maybe because I don't have all the dlc's just the free ones, but i doubt it. I think a recent patch just ruined it. If you have all the dlc's or just the free ones, i would appriciate it if you tested it or smth.
also, i tried it with coring the state, before i annex the puppet, because maybe it deletes it because you lose building slots when you occupy a state and don't have enough room for it, but no. Even when you have the slot for it it gets deleted. Weird

Hey i have an idea for a challenge! In the challenge you release the republic of karelia (except it's finnish cores) and then try to conquer Finland and your cores back on your own. You can either release karelia as trotsky and then play as or then use commands to release it. Doesn't matter if its historical or non historical.
At 13:30 you mentioned the event in which Republican Spain relocates their gold reserves. With Historical AI Focus on you always get this event if you send volunteers to Republican Spain. No luck involved. I think Spain prefers the player over the Soviet Union.
16:01 i've seen a video once where someone testet all planedesignes and his result was that you take 5% less IC losses when you have the torret in 1936, with the 1939 tech it is the same IC loss and has no significant impact
im new on hoi4. this video help me a lot. i tried to replicate this play for few times but no luck. the Yugoslavian civil war happen in my game. then Romania started pumping their army. so I'm too late when i annexed Romania.
Bitt3rsteel, have you ever played Eight Years War of Resistance? It's a really good mod that focuses mainly on China and Japan, it's really hard, atleast on your first playthrough, i think China has a deficit in everything, espescially guns with -12k at the beginning, and Communist China is really tiny and basically the weakest nation in the world, while Japan is fairly easy. I feel like you would enjoy it, although if you play Commie China, you should be prepared for a long playthrough. Day 1. I guess.

I would like to try and be more competent Navy side, but the whole thing for the Navy is just too confusing for me.

And it's not accurate. Say you get on a train in Rome for a 2 hour ride. After 2 hrs, your watch, set to Rome time, is two hours ahead, but the local time at the destination you arrived at is not 2 hours ahead. It's either a few minutes more or less then 2 hours because stations went by the local time. Mussolini made a standard national time. So that "made the trains run on time."
See I follow him but a little different. To me Italy has a huge equipment problem at the beginning of its war with Ethiopia. So I tend to prioritize the focuses that give me industry. I never thought about using the focus trees to gain territory and industry at the same time as going to war
I wonder if achivement guides will come back, I really enjoy other videos as well but I remember I found this channel few years ago when struggling with achivements and I really miss those videos
Tip: try puppeting every small tribal nation in ethiopia, all of them go down their own focus trees which gives free factories, and you dont have to bother with italian east africa puppet or losing your annexed ethiopia to the UK

things goin good, its 1939 i have half of yugoslavia (because i fought there civil war), i have turkey, greece, bulgaria, romania, and ethiopia is under the itallian africa thing, im currently fighting france just before germany invades poland, the english have a sucusful naval invasion on turkey and greece, the turkish naval invasion is rapidly being pushed back however i am struggling to handle the greek naval invasion, its not to late to save this though
