      @@michaeljames4904 Only makes sense for services like spotify, Netflix, HBO max etc. where the service brings a lot to the table and consumers benefit for paying it rather than alternatives. The monthly subscription for a fitness tracker is the biggest ripoff I have seen because other fitness trackers dont charge anything. Apple watches fitness classes or Apple Fitness is much better to pay for as you get a training coach on TV.

    Finally, the Fitbit line makes sense. This will make it so much easier to sell to customers.

    I heard reviewers talk about only getting a few days with their Charge 5 (not even the promised 5 days). I can speak from experience: If you turn off GPS and the Always On Screen, you could possibly get over a week like me.
    I've used the Exercise app everyday. I don't need GPS because my phone is always on me (not a runner), but it's a nice option to have. You're results may vary, but as of taking off my Charge to charge this morning, I still had 31% juice. This was the same time I took the Charge off the charger last week at 100%, and only took it off for maybe an hour total each day (during my 30 min of showering and getting myself together).
    I am so very pleased with my results. This has far exceeded my expectations.

    So I was replacing my Ionic Fitbit which was an amazing watch until it finally kicked the bucket. So I wanted something similar but with a smaller screen. & the charge 5 kept popping up. But the reviews kept me away from it for awhile because I kept reading how it still had bugs they yneeded to fix. But Black Friday came & the price dropped to a one day deal of 99.99 so I went ahead & bought it. Going on almost a month with it & so far no complaints. Does what it’s suppose to do, love the color screen. Accurate on the steps & super comfortable on the wrist. Also I keep this on 24/7 & I do NOT use the GPS function so it’s lasted me 8 days in a row before charge is needed. Only complaint is when I’m in the shower & the water hits it, it goes crazy with opening up different things up, but every Fitbit does that I believe. Would definitely recommend if your replacing an old Fitbit or wanting a new upgrade.

  • @MikeycatOutdoors
    @MikeycatOutdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I'm getting ticked off at Fitbit in general for their horrible band mounting designs that break within a year. My Charge 2 lasted 3 years with 4 bands until water got inside the unit. I bought a Charge 4 since it was more water resistant and it broke on me after 13 months of ownership. The cheap plastic mount on the body that slips inside the band broke off the body, so the unit is essentially junk. I could JB Weld it, but that might buy me a month or two until it breaks again. You'd think Fitbit would be able to make a band mount that works. If Timex can do it, why can't fitbit?

      Honestly that’s all on if it would be put to use in your personal life. I’ve been rocking Fitbit products going on 6+ years & I’m simple to the point of, I just want something to track my sleep, count my steps & make sure my BPS is in check. I actually got an Apple Watch 2 as a hand me down, so I switched it up & used it for about a month & it had its benefits but I didn’t use it near as much as other people do. I used it to sync my music to my speaker for work & the occasional text. Also the battery life on smart watches are god awful, literally have to charge every night (I wear my Fitbit 7 days a week until charge) all & all I went back to the Fitbit life, but if you feel you would use it’s features a lot more then I’d also do the research & see what you would like

    All I really want in a tracker is sleep score, current heart rate (recorded for long-term) the and the date.
    along with a way of telling me something is wrong with my health so I don't feel like a hypochondriac when I feel a little off so it can confirm it's not just a feeling.
    Other than that I just want them to get everything running efficiently and increase the battery energy density (or maybe transparent solar?) so I don't have to worry about charging (the magnate have enough force that they broke half the charging surface and it's supper finicky)

    Well, my charge 5 died a month short of turning 1 year old. It stopped charging...the battery would act like it was charging but once it was off the charger, it was back to 0-1% battery status and wouldn't turn on. I tried cleaning the already clean contacts and pressing the charge cable button 3x for a reset and still nothing. I filed a warranty claim for a replacement unit.
    The fitbits in general are junk. They are designed to break within a year. With my old ones, it was always the bands or the body mounts for the bands that broke within a year. On this model 5, at least the band system stayed intact for once. But the power system failed.

    $180 is not a bargain for this type of fitness trackers. I have owned and returned a lot of Fitbit charge 2, 3 and 4. Mainly due to lack of apps, supports and especially tiny display. Even this Charge 5, I wonder why they are making the display so tiny. There is space in that size to make the display as big as possible, but still it is as small as charge 4. Honestly, I rather buy Amazfit products rather than Fitbit products which are grossly over priced with lack of features. Also if you guys prefer a narrow and smaller fitness tracker, Xiaomi mi band 6 has similar (or bit narrower) size with much bigger and better display (does not come with built in GPS, but since almost everyone carry their phones, it is not as important as other features, IMO) with 1/4 of price tag. I feel that Amazfit & Xiaomi mi band offer way better value proposition than any of Fitbit products.

    Why Charge 4 Is Better: The menus are so much better, you scroll less can more can be seen at once. Also the screen covers the watch more unlike the Charge 5 where the screen has super thick bezels. Charge 3 and 4 bands work on the charge 4.
    Why Charge 5 Is Better: The color screen is nice (even though it doesn't add much). The design of the watch looks clean. And that's everything lol. Charge 4 is cheaper, it has all the features that the Charge 5 has. The only new thing is that there is a color screen and there is a new watch design but this "upgrade" is pointless unless you really, really need a color screen.

    A year later, both the price and the subscription were lower. Looking at the comments below, people are comparing apples to oranges. Tracking vs. Smart Watch are different enough in detail. After a year of release, updates, and fixes, you can find the pros and cons of each model's strengths and weaknesses on the internet. It depends on what is most important to you. Smart Watch is better in replacing the phone, but they can't track health like a tracker. So far, Fitbit Charge 5 is still the best in Sleep tracking and if sleep is essential for you.
