    Careful about the " wetting your hands " tip, in my research, another " expert " said: " You need to be very careful not to get wet the surface where Butyl tape is to be applied "

    I like your no nonsense approach to making a video. Do you think a person could use butyl tape to replace caulk on a small camper to replace caulking? Thanks in advance for a response and maybe a video on the subject.

      It depends on your application of where you are putting the butyl to replace that calking in your camper.

    Can I use the tape to deaden sound and vibrations from a cvt gearbox in an ATV? How does it dissipate heat?

      No you cant use to deaden sound and vibration, its a flexible rubber tape, if you use it will just turn into garbage and will make the tape useless after a month it is meant for stationary applications

    I heard that butyl shouldn't be left exposed to sun after installing. With Maxxair Fan install, is that part of why the sealant/leveling sealant goes over the tape? So many of the videos used butyl as a matter of fact but recently I've heard some pushback. Some videos also showed being able to "rub" the tape off (with elbow grease) of the old fan in order to apply the new. Now I'm wondering if the old tape was putty tape instead?

      Our butyl tape is heat and sunlight resistant, as it is made to withstand all sorts of conditions. Regarding the tape removal, it likely was butyl tape, as it has a putty-like consistency.

    Can I use the butyl tape to level low areas then apply self leveling sealants on and around tape?

    • @RecProUSA

      That could work as a temporary solution but we would recommend a more permanent solution to fix low spots and have a level area to work off of for anything you plan on doing to your project.

    Thanks for the upload! Question: Does butyl tape adhere to a water based latex paint? I recently painted my plywood camper.

    • @RecProUSA
      @RecProUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are not 100% sure, but we do not think it will adhere very well to painted surfaces.

      @@RecProUSA Thank you for you response. I guess I will strip the paint of down to the plywood. Thanks again.

    Sean if you have to cut it to fit should you do that prior to refrigerating?

    • @RecProUSA
      @RecProUSA  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, you would want to refrigerate the roll before you unroll or cut your strips to make it easier to work with and not make it as sticky to the paper. This will make it easier to work with overall.
