Well, assuming he's using standard 12MM pixels, each led draws about .24 watts with all three channels (RGB) at max. Not sure how many lights he has but a million lights all at full brightness would be about 240,000 watts.
It's impressive, for sure. Personally, I think tech is only beneficial if it's accentuating the magic of a holiday. This is tech at the expensive of the magic of a holiday. Christmas is about relaxation. Winding down. Peace. This set up, slowed down to traditional music, would be on point. But to each his own.
I'd love to see a few songs using this show where it's not "everything, all at once." Give each special effect its solo spot and I think you'll get more emotional impact. I'm reminded of the style of musical fountains popular in China and India that have several types of moving nozzles, fire, video and laser projections on a water screen, fire, air-powered "shooter" nozzles, etc. and every show uses all of them, usually all at the same time or in rapid succession. You get the general vibe of "THIS IS REALLY EXCITING!!" but after thirty seconds, you've seen everything the show can do.
This is absolutely fantastic. I can only imagine how many hours this must take you to put together. Have you ever submitted yourself to be on The Great Christmas Light Fight show on ABC? If not, you totally should. The 2019 prize per episode was 50K for the winner.

In First Baptist church in canton ga at christmas time, they put up tons of lights like this.
