A lovely mixed bag of fish there Mark. Very enjoyable to watch. They don’t always have to be big to be enjoyable to catch.

That was a refreshing video to watch Mark seeing someone enjoying a simple day out fishing. It takes me back to my youth when you just
went out fishing for the enjoyment of.` Fishing`.
You hit the nail on the head about tackle companys and some well know anglers. Tellling us we must have this gear and have 10 kilos of
bait to catch the biggest fish in the lake.
Sorry if i`m on my soap box but young anglers will never learn the true passion and understanding of fishing.
Like you said small waterways are a wonderful places and overlooked.
When i`m fishing on the river wey, the river and its surroundings absorbe me and you feel part of it, there is no better feeling, i do love my lake fishing but a small river, there is something about them that you cant put into words.
Thanks again for sharing your trip with us Mark
    regards Peter

Great fishing, Mark. Gonna get out this weekend and do some trotting. Like you say, these small waterways are well overlooked and produce the best fishing. Looking forward to your next video mate.

Well worth waiting for! Great session Mark, some beautiful fish. The gudgeon always put a smile on me, very first fish I caught as a 6 year old and my old man kept telling me you've got to put it back in the water now 😂. Great stuff , love it🐟🪱🎣👍

Thanks Frank it's a fab little river, despite the sewage issues which it is plagued by. Don't you have creeks in Australia?

@@markerd5378 Yes of course, but in SA most run seasonally ie: dry in summer or are reduced to isolated waterholes and our 'rivers', with the exception of the Murray, are little better. 'The driest state on the driest continent'.

Just a thought mark ,you said you had quite a few over runs with the centre pin, have you ever used a close face reel?
Brilliant for stick float /trotting,simple one finger control, or are you an out an out centre pin man,i have never used a centr pin before, they just look awkward on the rod and they limit your casting ,but each to their own as they say, whatever floats your boat ,looking forward to more of the same.
There seems to be a great head of roach in that little river, have you ever fish it with hemp and tares, you might be surprised at the size of roach that seem to appear out of nowhere?
Great to see the amount of gudgeon, one of my favourite fish.
    Best wishes brother

Cheers Richard, to be fair it's not a river where any real distance casting is required and I do really rather enjoy the free flowing that a centrepin reel does afford although I'm hardly as competent as some anglers with them when it comes to trotting with them. I certainly do agree that a closed face reel would work well and save over runs. Regarding seed that's actually a funny question because on one trip I did I fact take my bird seed and caught using some as bait. Most of the time though I generally fish flake/punch and maggots on here.

Hi Mark. i was just wondering if you could tell me of a stretch of foudry brook to fish. I rlly want to improve my river fishing skills but find the kennet a very daunting thought where as small streams which i have a little experience in fishing in other parts of the country are just up my street!
    regards.
    Benjamin

Great video and session mark ,beautiful little river, that stretch looks familiar, did you fish it a few years ago with nick from avon angling?
Just a question out pure curiosity (maybe it's the old match angler in me )you seem to have your keepnet quite away from were your fishing, instead of by your feet ,seems like a lot walking back snd forth?
I really enjoyed the video mark ,
Keep up the good work brother, best wishes.

      @markerd5378 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

Good morning Richard and that's correct Nick did pay me a visit and fished it with me. Unfortunately I couldn't make up my mind where I wanted the keepnet due to the fact that I had planned to move to fishing downstream and next to it later on which I did eventually do 😂.
