- Relics are parts of the body or material fragments associated with martyrs and saints, whom Catholics venerate. So why are they embedded in the altars of every Catholic church? In this video, you'll learn how relics are classified, how churches acquire relics and what happens to relics in shuttered or abandoned churches that no longer have a home?

Very informative. Thank you! But I disadvise the future use of irritating background "music." It adds nothing and only distracts.
Thank you. Mr. Presenter, you did well.
"I wont attempt answer that barbaric question" 😂
Omg not even funny!!!
Clarity.
I too also laughed out loud.
I know, right?! I was like, yowza. But I have to wonder if he was actually asked a different, more irreverent question by whoever was interviewing him during the actual taping rather the question we heard in the video itself.
@@susanarrington9371For you it isn't 😂
Excellent thank you.
I can actually say I never knew these facts about relics or that every church altar has one. Thanks I enjoyed the informative video.
I did stop when Monsignor said that the Church's family included the people in heaven, the people in purgatory and the people on earth. The Church has a modern problem with the concept of Limbo. The Church does not openly mention Limbo as it conflicts with the concept of God's offer of universal grace from the beginning of a person's existence. This particularly is acute with the current understandings of miscarriages and terminations, so it never mentions it any more.
Thank you alot excellent information
Thank you alot excellent video
God bless this priste
Amen Gloria adios alleluia bendiciones ❤❤❤
That's not true anymore. After Vatican 2. Altar Stones are be very very rare. Except SSPX.
2 Kings 13:21
Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
Mark 5:27-29
27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
Acts 19:11-12
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
Acts 5:15
As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.
Do Eastern catholic churches has relics on Altar ?
Praise the lord hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah 🙏 Amen Amen Amen Amen
Would a piece of the TRUE CROSS be considered to be a RELIC? Does that mean its A piece of the dead body of JESUS? So would this be considered to be a GHOST RELIC, or what?
What is a reliquery?
In a so-called "reliquary are displayed the bones and other body parts and pieces of cloth of dead people! NECROPHILIA!
A reliquary is a container used to hold and keep a relic. It is usually designed for that specific purpose and it is usually ornamental in nature.
What the heck are they doing? Are they nuts? She should be left in her peace! What are they looking? What are they trying to prove? For God sake, leave the saint alone in peace!
Deu 5:8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Deu 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
Question, have you read the description of The Ark of The covanent? Your cellphone or television could be "strange" ungodly images. Statues and Art of Holy Angels and Saints ARE not disallowed.
The bible clearly states not serve or mention the names of other gods.@@Obedience33
Who are the saints you are referring?@@Obedience33
@@Obedience33I love when Prots try to use laws that were specifically for the ancient Israelites and apply them to Christians today.
Apostle Paul went through this also in Athens
And read
Isaiah 44
All who fashion idols are nothing, and the things they delight in do not profit. Their witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be put to shame. (Isaiah 44:9, ESV)
RCC we see what they do regarding Mary , and see how God is not pleased, it not only OT teachings it still applies in the NT
Time of Ignorance God over looked , Apostle paul say this also in Athens and addressed those pagans who were gentiles not Israelites
29 Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,
31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead." (Acts 17:29, ESV)
Peter what did he say
18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. (1 Peter 1:18, ESV)
Yes we do see this relics and other nonsense in these churches that God has no part in because we see many standing be side them Boeing , praying, crying kissing , if you don’t believe me pictures say a 1000 words go on you tube and see through RC what they do , or walk in any RCC you just might catch some in front of these statues in idolatry.
This is idolatry,Moses body was not found and Jesus body didn't remain in the tomb if not we would be worshipping dead people ...
The relics from St. Paul The Apostle have healing powers. Didn't you know this?
There’s a world of difference between an idol (something that’s always an end unto itself) and an icon (something that points beyond itself to the sacred, to the transcendent, i.e., to God). These relics basically serve as icons, not idols.

The Roman Catholic church concept of "relics of saints" is antithetical to the gospel.

I have been a devout Roman Catholic since 1961, but I renounced my Roman Catholic faith in 2022 for two chief reasons: one, the Roman Catholic faith is not aligned with the Bible; and two, I was spiritually liberated by the book I read entitled "Altar of Secrets: Sex, Politics, and Money in the Philippine Catholic Church" by Aries C. Rufo. I am now a happily born again Christian . . . much better because its Bible-centered! The Word of God, the Bible, is true food and real drink (John 6:63) not transubstantiation.
