I have Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and I don't remember this song being on it. I think you might be mistaking this for To End of Rapture, which was remade when Synister Gates joined the band and was on re-releases of Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.
I've been playing guitar for ten years, and still get a cheeky grin every time I attempt to learn this solo. Gates, you lovely guitar wizard, please give me some of your magic.

This song was written in such a way that the longer you've been listening to it the harder the lyrics hit you everytime. Because each time you return to this song, time has taken a little bit more from you since the last time. After all, that's what this songs all about. How powerless you are to the passage of time, utterly helpless as you observe everything you care about gradually get taken away by it. And the pain that comes with wishing you could go back. I can't believe 'The Reverend', the drummer, Jimmy Sullivan, wrote almost every song on the first two albums of this bands history. He was incredible. He made this band what it is today. Honestly, I thought he was just one of incredible drummers of history; I had no idea, he was also a creative genius.

We can all agree that no matter how much 'screaming' there is, there is a clear sense of fantastic musicianship prevelant in everything from their old stuff to their newest stuff. For those of you who should be enjoying it but are letting the fact that they 'scream' prevent you from listening to such nihilistic and obviously emotional works of art, then you're really missing out. I'll be dragged down to hell with "Demons" playing in the background. Rock the fuck on.

Wow, I've only over the past few months began digging into their older stuff (looking for dark music with screaming). I've mostly listened to their newer stuff up until now and to me it's hard to believe there was a time when A7X had a style that would fit in with a record label like Hopeless. These guys are a phenomenal band and all their stuff is great. \m/
THey were great, but the greatness faded with Awaken the fallen. I bought city of evil hoping bat country was the only song without screaming... Needless to say i snapped that album in half and never looked back. i suppose we still have the first 2 albums. Trivium & All that remains are on the same sellout pussy shit-list

Kirby Carabeo I played Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock when I turned 5 cause I think it just came out and my mom got it and I played it with her and that’s when I first heard Bat Country and since then I’ve really liked their stuff.
Kirby Carabeo I have an a lot of anger issues so like, anything will trigger it, but listening to them...calms me down in some way. I think it’s because I keep them pretty much on full blast so the sound blocks my thoughts and just makes me...happier...in a way.
To be honest A7X is my most favorite band ever next to slipknot and a day to rememeber and things along those lines. I try to stick to metal/ metal core genres which is my favorite type but I do take other genres into account and enjoy listening to hard, soft, and plain rock as well. And to be honest. Avenged sevenfold is a amazing band with an astonishing amount of growth and a very diverse view on music. And I enjoy every song they release from every album and I believe i am a very dedicated fan. And although I do love their music and view on what type of music to make. I much rather perfer waking the fallen over their newer albums. Their first three albums sounding the seventh trumpet, waking the fallen, and city of evil are the definition of good metal/rock and metal core music. My favorite songs out of any band. Any artist. And any album. Are from waking the fallen. They made very good and unique songs that I truly think are their best works. And after I bought the waking the fallen reserected cd I loved it but I was hoping they would've implemented more recent shows where the band put in waking the fallen songs and shadow got his good screams and growls that he had in waking the fallen. But other than that I can say without a doubt A7X is the best band you could find. They release any and every mind if music. And I enjoy all if their works especially the older albums. Avenged sevenfold forever.
Cd I loved it but I was hoping A7X would implement more recent shows where the band played songs from waking the fallen and shadows got better with his screaming and maybe.. Just maybe.. He sounded almost like he did in waking the fallen. His screams and growls in waking the fallen truly were spot on and I love their old music. It is the best but overall they are a great band with any and all types of music. They in my oppinion are the greatest band in the world. I know I will get hate for that comment but that's my point of view on avenged sevenfold and I don't care what anyone says. Sevenfold for life

Wow, I've only over the past few months began digging into their older stuff (looking for dark music with screaming). I've mostly listened to their newer stuff up until now and to me it's hard to believe there was a time when A7X had a style that would fit in with a record label like Hopeless. These guys are a phenomenal band and all their stuff is great. \m/
THey were great, but the greatness faded with Awaken the fallen. I bought city of evil hoping bat country was the only song without screaming... Needless to say i snapped that album in half and never looked back. i suppose we still have the first 2 albums. Trivium & All that remains are on the same sellout pussy shit-list

Kirby Carabeo I have an a lot of anger issues so like, anything will trigger it, but listening to them...calms me down in some way. I think it’s because I keep them pretty much on full blast so the sound blocks my thoughts and just makes me...happier...in a way.
To be honest A7X is my most favorite band ever next to slipknot and a day to rememeber and things along those lines. I try to stick to metal/ metal core genres which is my favorite type but I do take other genres into account and enjoy listening to hard, soft, and plain rock as well. And to be honest. Avenged sevenfold is a amazing band with an astonishing amount of growth and a very diverse view on music. And I enjoy every song they release from every album and I believe i am a very dedicated fan. And although I do love their music and view on what type of music to make. I much rather perfer waking the fallen over their newer albums. Their first three albums sounding the seventh trumpet, waking the fallen, and city of evil are the definition of good metal/rock and metal core music. My favorite songs out of any band. Any artist. And any album. Are from waking the fallen. They made very good and unique songs that I truly think are their best works. And after I bought the waking the fallen reserected cd I loved it but I was hoping they would've implemented more recent shows where the band put in waking the fallen songs and shadow got his good screams and growls that he had in waking the fallen. But other than that I can say without a doubt A7X is the best band you could find. They release any and every mind if music. And I enjoy all if their works especially the older albums. Avenged sevenfold forever.
Cd I loved it but I was hoping A7X would implement more recent shows where the band played songs from waking the fallen and shadows got better with his screaming and maybe.. Just maybe.. He sounded almost like he did in waking the fallen. His screams and growls in waking the fallen truly were spot on and I love their old music. It is the best but overall they are a great band with any and all types of music. They in my oppinion are the greatest band in the world. I know I will get hate for that comment but that's my point of view on avenged sevenfold and I don't care what anyone says. Sevenfold for life
