Info Slide: In classical Christian teachings, the forgiveness of sins is conditioned on a human’s ability to repent and includes the concept of “eternal hell” where sinners are eternally punished for their sins. The devil cannot repent, and therefore cannot receive forgiveness.
In light of this, a theological interpretation called Christian Universalism emerged, which discusses how forgiveness is universal and can extend to anyone, even the devil; the concept of hell is not eternal but rather remedial and corrective, and those sent to hell still have a chance to go to heaven.
