Im about the same age as him. Rc has given me alot not just a passion and something fun but also it has taught me many life leassons and given me great friends! Im always looking forward to going up or down the country to the next race with my teammates. And your chanel has helped me alot in the hobby. thank you man!
this gave me a reminder from old videos of Brian kinwald as a young driver half the length of some of the guys he raced with and no one could reach up to his level. god luck and hope ryan had inspired James to go for a chance to be the next rc driver of the world.
That's funny, James comment about driving the two cars is spot on. When I first got back into racing (OCRC California) I had to dial the car back to make it easier to drive and over the last year I've slowly been increasing its aggressiveness / edginess. Shock oil, shock positions, and droop are things I've adjusted along with battery position. Another thing I added was an aluminum bulkhead. I've also played with spacer thickness and ball positions on the rear suspension. Now I'm playing with different rear pill setups. For the most part the car works great and is pretty close to a setup the Spencer Rivkin used at OCRC in 2018.
Ryan Harris very very cool what you are doing with James. Kind of creating a little mentor program with youth in RC. I hope more people jump onto this with our youth. Awesome job bud.
Hey Ryan! Abby here from TheRcSaylors! Watching with Nate right now! What an awesome track and great camera work and edits. We are loving what you have going on here.
His paint scheme is pretty sweet. Good to see more young people getting in on the sport. I started when I was in 4th grade. So it's awesome to see this!
James can drive very well! He and his dad have good vibes too! Ryan, you guys could be in for something much bigger than what you have now. All the best! 👍🔥👊🍻😉😊
Great vid an way to help another racer find out if they want to try something else to race.i raced there ocala yrs ago but didn't want to sand down my tires an use onroad tire sauce so i ran bad but a guy did give me a set of tires that he sanded down a ra raced with to see the difference but i still didnt want to sand my tires down great place to race stay in that groove
Nice story , this kid drives nice , I'm eager to see him drive your B64 . I think he will do good at masters of dirt. good work Ryan wish you luck for your series.
That's great! Now you have another person racing, and he sounds like a great kid. Thing is, he was already a racer, just not 10th scale. How to get a complete newb to RC going, and on a track and in an organized race? I just bought my Grandson a Traxxas slash to bash around the yard and hit the track occasionally with me. He's not old enough yet, but he has fun wrecking it. I'm hoping that the experience will steer him towards racing some day. I would have no idea how to get someone elses kid involved and interested.
It's tough for sure to bring a complete new comer to the track. If I ever find a way I'll certainly share it haha in meantime, doing whatever I can keep the spark alive with the younger side of our hobby. Thanks for your support btw!
I’ve recently come back in to the hobby after 8 years away and have got my 12 year old step son in to it. Running schumachers on carpet. Won’t be that long till he starts beating me lol
So nice to see, young lads n lasses racing. The enthusiasm is so clear...dam well beats a PS4 all day long. (Going to put the same comment on insta should you want to follow me and my daughters racing 👍)
sup Ryan, i would love to see a video or videos about tuning and setups for rc buggys. i play VRC PRO and dont know anything about suspension settings, oils in shocks, how the upper and lower arms should be, A.R.B setting, and Everything else
I've been watching your channel a bunch for the past week, appreciate all your content and feed back. The one thing I found hard to find is a in the same video is the differences between all the race cars, buggy2*2, buggy4*4, truggy, short course,... their is so much choices that when you start it's making it difficult to choose what you should start with and how to approach it. I Would appreciate any constructive comment, Thank you.
I'm positive you get this question all the time, so I'm hoping it'll be a copy/paste answer that takes no time..but, is there a list or setup of stuff you'd recommend to do a budget build for a new driver of 2wd buggy? I'm doing crawling mostly, but would love to try racing, as there's a couple backyard tracks (dirt oval, one with jumps, one with loose dirt), but..I'm balling on a budget. I was hoping to get some kind of roller, then equip it with a cheap motor/esc..or if possible, I have a 3300kv 550 hw motor / esc combo that sits in a axial yeti TT, that breaks every time I run it (why I turned to crawling, lol). Anyway, if you, or anyone knowledge about reads this, hit me up.
great vid, and its great to give back in this sport!! it looks like his car has too much initial steering, its so quick entering the turn then seems to wash a little mid to exit. Im guessing your car (Ryan) isn't so reactive initially, that's why he prefers your setup. may be wrong, but from looking at the vid, thats what i see. hope this helps. keep up the good work buddy
That is at new reds hobbies in Ocala correct ?? You are such an AWSOME guy for what you are doing not only for the sport side but the hobby side as well. Mad props to the young guy. I’m planning on a lil baca up there soon and want to bring my 4wd buggy to play. Any tips ??
First, off love your content! Most helpful rc tip videos I have found! I have a question about switching from clay to turf for the winter. I'm still newish, is it 100 necessary to run a gear diff in my buggy and sct? How, much am I hurting myself by not running it?
Ryan, good job as the RC ambassador! On another subject, does Simple Green cause tires to eventually get hard? Me and a bunch of my buddies are running 2WD Slash trucks on my short dirt oval. I'd love to "dope" tires on the hunt for better traction but what is safe for tires like stock traxxas stuff or proline stuff? Thanks for the videos! Jim
Hey Ryan in the video it looks like his car is really edgy. You should try and get home to turn down the speed of the servo little by little and see if that will allow him to be smoother and calm the car down over all.
Please anybody answer me this question I am so curious. The equivalent of a more dense silicone (I'm from 18 scale) is tightening the differential in a ball diff? (I'm assembling a 2wd) It will be so helpful :D
@lane johnson Thanks fow answering! Okay I will break the diff and tighten in up little by little till the wheels rotate a half turn :D Thank you so much!

Awesome man! Glad you have enjoyed it! Best of luck out there 🏁

This is why you have help and sponsors, cause you help others. Nicely done Mr Harris. He's a pretty good driver too, he has lots of potential.
This is awedome man. Good on ya for suporting that kid
this gave me a reminder from old videos of Brian kinwald as a young driver half the length of some of the guys he raced with and no one could reach up to his level.

Very cool! I love seeing kids getting into the sport and having fun. You're awesome Ryan!
kudos to you for such a great mentor. This hobby needs more people like you to grow.

Kid is really good... Quick to recover as well. So cool to see you doing this. Best of luck to you both!
Hey Ryan! Abby here from TheRcSaylors! Watching with Nate right now! What an awesome track and great camera work and edits. We are loving what you have going on here.

Good thing to do, I am interested in following this. Interesting they found 10th scale intimidating before they tried it.
Nice story , this kid drives nice , I'm eager to see him drive your B64 . I think he will do good at masters of dirt. good work Ryan wish you luck for your series.

Awesome! He obviously has some time spent on the track for his first year running.
Series that would be nice
Hi Ryan my name is David. I was wondering what you do with all your old tires
First, off love your content! Most helpful rc tip videos I have found! I have a question about switching from clay to turf for the winter. I'm still newish, is it 100 necessary to run a gear diff in my buggy and sct? How, much am I hurting myself by not running it?

What servo do you use or what servo,is a good servo for this type of driving
Ryan, good job as the RC ambassador! On another subject, does Simple Green cause tires to eventually get hard? Me and a bunch of my buddies are running 2WD Slash trucks on my short dirt oval. I'd love to "dope" tires on the hunt for better traction but what is safe for tires like stock traxxas stuff or proline stuff? Thanks for the videos! Jim
lane, thanks! Are you soaking the rubber or just misting it? How long do you leave it on, hours until it "dries"? Thanks!
lane johnson thanks!
Awesome!!
Is that dirt
Hey Ryan in the video it looks like his car is really edgy. You should try and get home to turn down the speed of the servo little by little and see if that will allow him to be smoother and calm the car down over all.

try Buying a onroad ep 1/10 scale
Молодцы.
I luv u
Am I the only fat bastard that wants some meat loaf now
Also I’d love to help out if I could somehow! Need more if this happening
Fun
What do you do for work to afford all of this? I suppose not having kids helps lol
what you can do is get a rtr kit that tough and try racing
Grow the beard back out
That looks like they don't need no help if u can afford 1/8 scale u don't need help with 1/10 scale 1/8 it way more expensive
