  • Are bearing knives worth buying? Some are a LOT better than others! This one is great for a little while, then tears itself apart.

It's a $25-$30 knife, you get what you pay for, chances are the scales and pivot area weren't properly hardened for proper bearing wear resistance. Comparing 14c28n to Magnacut is like comparing a Yugo to a Corvette. Hard use knives frequently use washers, Cold Steel, Spyderco, Real Steel, Chris Reeves ect, and most light to med duty edc knives use bearings, but since all combinations are available it comes down to personal preference. Hinderer knives come with bearings, bronze, and nylon washers so you can pick which ones you want to use. The 801 is definitely not a hard use knife, Cold Steel would be a better choice of hard use budget friendly knife. The 3in Recon One is my favorite daily carry around the farm.
