Yuko Suzuhana, the band leader and main vocalist, was a champion of shigin, a unique singing style of ancient Chinese and Japanese poetry. She has long been concerned about the current decline of Japanese classical performing arts and traditional culture such as “Kimono”. She came up with the idea of presenting Japanese classical performing arts to the world with a more POP atmosphere, and she recruited members from the public to form the Wagakki Band. Their first step was to create “Vocaloidzanmai,” a cover album of songs created with Vocaloid, a songwriting software that allows virtual idols to sing.When the music video for “Senbonzakura,” a song included on the album, was uploaded to TH-cam, it immediately attracted attention from around the world (it currently has 160 million views), and became the impetus for them to tour in Europe and the United States.

He is also responsible for at least 50% of the songs they have written themselves. They have released 7 studio albums and two EPs. Unfortunately, they have announced that they are taking an indefinite break from the New Year. But they assure that they will come back with more good music for the fans. Yuko has an incredible range of voice and style she can sing, and the band itself has really good musician's
