      The only thing I kinda don't like about "S.C.A.T." is that you don't see your score on the screen.
      It just feels a lot better when you know how close you are to the next extra life.

    The Japanese name for "Action in New York" is "Final Mission"
    The original story was a lot more grim as it was basically humanities last stand against an alien invasion that wipes out a great deal of the population, resulting in the post-apocalyptic backgrounds and futuristic setting.
    Great upload by the way!

    Xexyz's overall game design is very similar to Monster Party - finding hidden rooms and beating bosses to obtain things to get to different areas. Even the engine used in Xexyz is, I strongly suspect, a modified version of the same engine used in Monster Party.

    Yes! Guardians Legend is number one on your list... and I TOTALLY agree with you! That was one of my favourite NES games... Thanks for bringing back the memories... and everything you said about TGL is true! Pure classic... Often wondered if or when someone would do a remake or updated version or sequel of that game... Zelda, Metroid, Mario all had major innovative advancements over the years... Would be interested in playing an HD or 3D version of this game... Can only wish...

      I am about your age (21) i grew up owning and playing SNES, Sega genesis, and Nintendo 64. I never owned an NES, but have played it plenty of times and plan to buy one soon. I would also recommend getting the other 3 consoles I mentioned if you already don't own them. I still play those consoles along with modern pc games and have a blast playing them to this day.

      amaterasu usaretama I feel you man; I'm 21 and sold my XboxOne for a mint condition Super Nintendo and NES with a ton of games. I gave the current generation consoles a chance but I just wanted to stay with my childhood memories. Plus I work so much that I don't have hours and hours to invest in playing games like I used to. Not that the new generation of gaming is all bad, its just a matter of preference. So enjoy yourself! Retro gaming is where it's at!

    Brain Lord! It has to be one of the best and simultaneously most obscure RPGs i've played for NES. It had a really neat combat system using these sprite guardians and the players character. Highly recommend a look. Also Joe and Mac was made for the SNES as well. Very good. Legend of the Mystical Ninja was good too. So many more.

      King Voxel Mr. Gimmick is better though famicom audio channels used for maximum kick ass music that makes you think 16-bit. And it is a SNES GAME ON A NES in every aspect. Attention to detail is everywhere. Hit detection is 1pixel by 1pixel on all enemies and you. And it has pyshics unlike most platformers. Parralax scrolling minorly, music that is beyond belief, great level design, and has the very best AI on 16-bit to 8-bit consoles. It is smarter then all 8-bit games and snes. It is mind blowing to play the game and see how unmapitulive they are. You can't manipulate them at all! Got to know the controls and pyshics. Your character actually has weight.

    I fucking loved XEXYZ!!! but I forgot what it was called...
    I remember playing it when I was a kid at my babysitters house and thinkin' it was afuckingmazing. And Metal Storm I think stopped being obscure cause the few kids who did play it when it game out decided to show it to all their friends later when roms and emulators came about [I mean when I was 25, I'm currently 30, I was showing it to my 23-30 year old friends and they were like "How the fuck did we never play this. This is awesome!!" and they showed it to other people and so on].
    But seriously I've been trying to figure out what the fuck xexyz was actually called for forever!

    Actually scat has many meanings, none of them is "eating shit", that is plainly wrong. It means "to move away in haste" or "a jazz style" or literally "shit", albeit it usually refers to animal excrement, not human.
    The whole "shit eating" is not the proper use of the word.

    James & Mike Play S.C.A.T.
    Lol, I dare anyone try to say that with a straight face. It's impossible. In all seriousness though, they should definitely play that game together seeing as Mike mentioned that it's good to play it 2 players.

    S.C.A.T means eating your own poop?

    • @locoloboxiii
      @locoloboxiii 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +stevenpa887 Apparently it does now. The way words change astounds me. Scat, used to be what a Bear left after he was done.... also, was a type/genre of singing performance...... I guess now, we have to go away from what we learned, and let the new people around, make up new definitions for everything....... Never once in my life, until the age of 37, did I EVER hear SCAT as a reference to eating one's own feces. (closer to 38.)

    • @Hellwyck
      @Hellwyck 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Scat isn't eating shit, it's just "shit".
      and Scat singing is making noises with your mouth eg: "Skiddly be bop ba baaaaa" in Jazz.

    Mike, just so you know, Bucky O'Hare was created before the Ninja Turtles back in 1978 or 1979. However, it didn't officially debut to the public until the same year and month as Ninja Turtles in May 1984.

    The Guardian Legend!! its a really great game! i get my copy years ago not knowing a thing about it ( i was buying Demon Sword, another rather obscure title that everyone should play, a sort of spiritual console only sequel to The Legend of Kage), so i was surprised by the tech level in that cart, really good top 10!
