    I've been using this for several months; as a shorter bustier girl, I have to say this fits perfectly on my back and I really feel like I'm carrying nothing at all; I'm never going back to wearing a purse; this easily holds all my daily edc needs, and extras like a kindle or a switch when I want to bring those. Really spacious when necessary, and the amount of organization is perfect for me. I have some other bags I use occasionally like my Osprey day sling, which is slightly bigger, but this is always my preferred sling.

      Thanks for sharing, Marian! Are there any situations that the sling doesn’t work well for you? 🧐

      @@PackHacker2 Thanks for asking; only really when I have to carry significant amounts of heavy items; while it does fit both a switch AND a small kindle if need be, if I'm carrying that much heavy stuff for any distance I'm going to chose a different sling or day pack, because that much weight tends to make the bag sag a little and not sit quite as well on my back, but otherwise I'm very happy with it.
      I've also been fiddling with whether it works better for flying, or an Osprey Day Sling is better. Whatever sling bag I use, I put in my backpack while getting on the plane, so I only have a back pack and carry on when getting on the plane, and then I pull the sling out when I get on the plane so I have everything I need on the plane within easy reach. I'm still going back and forth on this because the tomtoc is bulkier and takes up more space in my backpack, but then again it's my preferred sling to carry at most destinations, but the Osprey holds more and is still a great day sling, so....I feel like I'm still alternating; right now it's tomtoc when I'm travelling to more urban areas where I know I'm going to want to have the sling on my front at times for more security, and Osprey when my destination is more beachy and I'm going to need a bigger sling for more beach supplies.

    • @PackHacker2
      @PackHacker2  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Wow, thanks for sharing those insights, Marian! I can see how the tomtoc would clog up your pack but would work better in an urban environment. It sounds like you have a good system going so far 😃

    Im probably in the minority, but the value balance of this bag I found way more enticing than Aer. I actually returned the Aer bag after trying both for 2 weeks. For a daily bag, and the durability of build vs purchase price, I am much more convinced the materials of this bag will last longer than the Aer "quality" you pay for simply cause I had frayed some of the threading on the Aer bag within the first week, and no visible wear to the Tomtoc.
    I will say the storage and access design of the Aer is a bit nicer, more thoughtfully built, but for the price value, I am ok with that sacrifice. I am a tad biased. I have had one of their tech backpacks and it has had 2 years of regular travel usage and it has been incredibly tough and durable not showing a single issue of wear, tear or damage. *shrug* I am a value focused user based on actual daily use who travels for work constantly, so the expensive "high end" brands are not usually a very practical choice for me.
    I did a bit of research, this company has been around a long time and is bigger than i thought. It is not just some random chinese knock off factory, and I saw their brand quite a lot in Europe. cheers

    this is a great bag if you're looking for something more affordable and don't care about fancy fidlocks or designer brand labels. The materials are nothing fancy but strong, and the details in how it carries are well thought out. it's my personal recommendation for someone looking to dip their toes into an EDC style sling.

    Ive been using this bag everyday since October 2022 and it’s been holding up really well. I carry it in the front of me. I put cash in the hidden zipper pocket closer to my body, and fill the main larger pocket with my large iPhone and smaller everyday items like chapstick, mini brush, keys etc… My only gripe is the front department zipper will strip/wear down the shine coating on the edge of that pocket.

    Nice job as usual. I picked this up to carry a camera, but it quickly became my daily carry and I throw it in my backpack when I need to carry more gear or head into the office.
    I have it packed to allow room for the X100V or another camera for the day.
    It looks great, has minimal branding and that strap design is solid. A great buy!

    I have used this bag for two years. I would recommend highly to grab it in another color, because it is very difficult to see the contents with the black interior (this has eventually made me switch to another sling of similar size). The Nintendo switch fits perfectly but there is not a lot of padding and if you are like me probably would prefer to use a slim case for the switch, in which case it won’t fit. In any case I think this is unbeatable at its price range (at least the price it had when I bought it).

  • @davidbergewaytogo

    Strangely, the 7 L version of this Tomtoc T-21 has different locations for the straps ends, they attach to the bag on the rear side, similar to a typical Messenger bag. On the model shown in this video, one strap end is attached to the side, and the other comes off the rear.

  • @jamesallen7259
    @jamesallen7259 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I just got this neat little sling and look forward to using it for travel.
    However there is one glaring issue for for me a big man.
    I had to loosen the strap to its widest point to fit my 6'3" height and 50" chest.
    Now I am some where between a large and extra large. I feel for users over extra large it might be difficult to use. I know this bites in at my neck, especially when it's loaded with tech items.
    So I would have to say that is an issue with extra extra medium users.
    I am sure this point might be totally missed with smaller and slighter reviewers.
    However, I think this might be a consideration Packhacker might be able to include in future reviews.

    I'm really tempted to get one of these to see if my Steam Deck will fit... It definitely should if the interior wasn't divided, but I'm not sure if the divider leaves enough room for the thickness of the Steam Deck.
    I know tomtoc makes a Steam Deck bag specifically, but I'm still looking for a slimmer, more compact bag/case...

    • @munguiajr9901

    • @FaerieDust
      @FaerieDust ปีที่แล้ว

      @@munguiajr9901 Tomtoc makes a slim case ("FancyCase-A05") that's perfect for me - it's slim enough that the Steam Deck actually fits in my usual handbag. The launched it a couple of months ago, but I'd completely missed it! It's exactly what I wanted, it's the Steam Deck version of their slim Nintendo Switch cases basically.

    does anyone have any feedback on running with it? my friend has a sling that has a triangular shape so it sits snug when she's running late to class, and I'm looking for something that could manage a similar task! This looks like it would probably bounce around on your back a lot though, since the weight is fairly compact and there's no stabilising strap
