1983 Yamaha Virago XV 500 - mechanical timing

Finally fixed the timing and it still won't start. Suggestions appreciated!

Ignition Coils connectors maybe on the wrong side. Switch them then try starting the bike again. My xv750 was only cranking and backfiring until I switch the connectors.

sounds like the cdi (igniter) has packed up. like mine every now and then you get a cough....mine sometimes shoots a flame, as the cdi discharges the spark at random. If you still have this and still have the same issue try ignitech and if you fixed it what was the problem?
