@marygonzalez6473 wait people are leaving the path of christ because you and I have a different interpretation of a song. You're a f**king 🤡, people leave the church because of self-righteous c*nts like yourself.
@marygonzalez6473 imagine blaming someone different interpretation of a song for the reason people are walking away from the church. You're a 🤡, and not very Christian like.
This was President Carter's FAVORITE song. Seeing the deeper meaning and implications of the song requires opening one's heart and mind to universal spirit. When you embody goodness, when God's compassion is seated in your heart, there is no need for the human construct of religion. The lyrics serve as a model of perfection of the spirit, the overcoming of human foibles and vices. They poetically illustrate our collective yearning for peace and brotherly love, aspirations for wholeness, the manifestation of virtue and compassion.
This is the most inappropriate song to be song in a church. I'm concerned that getting people to imagine that there's no heaven that they won't be reunited with their love ones will cause the grievers to go into deep depression. They need to live in reality not get sucked into a depressing fantasy. 😢
Are you really concerned about people's soul's? Or your personal opinion? You entirely missed the message of the song. God is all about love and wouldn't approve of the wars being fought in his name world wide. A song promoting peace and love is exactly what God is about. Not nasty hateful comments. President Carter was a man who believed in and advocated for peace and this was his funeral for his family and if he approved and they are fine that's all that matters.
What an extremely odd choice of music, whose song is originally sung by John Lennon, who was well known to be against Christians and also JESUS CHRIST! " Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn't argue with that; I'm right and I will be proved right. We're more popular than Jesus now; I don't know which will go first - rock and roll or Christianity."-John Lennon
Imagine? Really?? It's going to take a lot more than imagination to change the world and why sing a song whose author had almost nothing in common with Jimmy Carter and which song insinuated ending "religion?" Or maybe Jimmy Carter belted his wife like Lennon did to Yoko. Anyways, it's safe to say the recipe that is baked into the song with the hopes of making a better world severely lacks texture and leavening agents. It simply doesn't hold water.
It was President Carter's FAVORITE song. It appears you don't grasp the deeper meaning and implications of the song. That requires opening your heart and mind to universal generosity of spirit. Lol imagine this song being done at a church.......o wait😢
@@HighyieldGD it's been sang for the pope. They idea is that religion is a crazy reason to fight.
@marygonzalez6473 lol ok.....whatever you say
@@HighyieldGD It's remarks like that , that's why people are leaving Christian faiths.

This video is historic. Its an actual garth brooks performance on the internet
Heartbreaking funeral for President Jimmy Carter. I didn't even recognize Garth Brooks in the performance with Trisha Yearwood. I sounded great.
GodBless President Carter and Mrs Carter.
I think He did. 🕯️✝️🕊️🙏
The worst song to play at a funeral. The first line is “Imagine there’s no heaven.”
A little truthful reality is a good thing at a funeral. Lennon's song hits the nail on the head! Peace and love was Jimmy's wish for the world.
Rest in heaven Mr President
Is that dark humor?
All President Carter wanted was peace, so people need to stop talking about the song choice. This song is perfect for a peaceful man ❤

You are right. I agree. The song is inappropriate for a Christian funeral.

Stupid song for a bunch of wicked people!
Wow says a follower of the anti christ. Go away with your hate filled speech
They need to heard this song specially one person at the funeral.

It was an inappropriate song indeed. The words of the song are suitable for an atheist only, not for any child of God
@@makingjesusknown4338 he loved shock and probably stoned when he said that.

Where are the bodies Garth?
Unfortunately it tragically still doesn't fit with US policy or customs or global capitalism. We must all keep dreaming I guess.
Wow, that song and this clown singing it goes against everything Mr. Carter believed in.

Excellent song pick. Garth and Trisha did a good job.
Seriously? Worst song choice of all time for a funeral! You might as well sing Highway to Hell.
