      BHA has a purging effect, because it increases the skin cell turnover (your skin is basicaly pushing out the old dead skin and replacing it with new one quickly) that's why you get a break out when you start using it. Same thing with retinoids. it's a normal thing as long as it doesn't last more than 6 weeks.

    I use the cerave blemish control cleanser and the am spf 50 moisturiser in the morning and in the evening I use the soap and glory vitamin c face wash and then use the cerave blemish control gel. My skin was getting better but the past few weeks I have started breaking out. Do you think I should use the cerave blemish control cleanser morning and evening or stick to what I’m doing?

    • @AllThatGlows
      @AllThatGlows  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for taking the time to comment. Perhaps try to gradually increase applying the blemish control gel to twice daily and see how that goes. Also, cerave's blemish control cleanser contains salicylic acid, which can be quite harsh on skin when used alot. Maybe try changing that to a gentler cleanser and see how you go. Also, once you have applied the blemish control gel and it has absorbed well into the skin, apply a good moisturiser. On a side note, have you ever tried Korean skincare products? They are really fantastic for soothing irritated skin and products containing green tea and propolis for example can really help with acne. Hope that helps!

      Hi there, thank you for your comment 😀 I wouldn’t recommend using the resurfacing retinol serum at the same time as the acne control gel as both products contain strong exfoliating ingredients and if used together they could dry out and irritate your skin. I would use the acne control gel maybe in your morning routine and the CeraVe resurfacing retinol serum at night! ✨I would apply moisturiser after having applied the control gel as the skin would still need to be moisturised. Thank you for taking the time to comment! Use this product as if it is an exfoliating serum…therefore before using your moisturiser (serums are always applied before moisturisers) Always use thinnest products first and then move on to thickest creams etc. If you are worried about the moisturiser taking the gel off, then just wait a couple of minutes for the gel to absorb into the skin and then apply your moisturiser. I'm new to this skincare thing, so I don't know what I'm really doing, but my sister brought me this because she noticed I had a bunch of acne on my face and even on the sides of my forehead. I had huge pimples everywhere. So do I need to wash it off? because it says I need to rinse well? This is my first time actually using a skincare product, so when I applied this to my face, it was not really burning me, more like the area where I applied it was warm. I guess my skin is not used to it, so I'm going to keep trying it out for a week. Are there any hints or videos you have for skincare newbies like me? I would really appreciate it! OH! Also, I don't have any moisturizer cream to keep it moist, as you said, so I'm going to leave this on overnight today and rinse it off when I wake up and see what happens.

      @AllThatGlows  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for taking the time to comment :-) No you do not need to wash it off. You just need to cleanse your skin first before you apply it. Once your skin is clean, then you apply the gel on the effected area (area where you have pimples or acne) Apply it once every couple of days then gradually build up to max 2 times daily. After you have applied the gel and it has absorbed well, then apply a moisturiser (Cerave's moisturisers are also good). I hope this info helps :-) xxx

    Can I use ascorbic acid after 2% bha cleanser?

    • @AllThatGlows
      @AllThatGlows  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can use the ascorbic acid after the 2% bha :-) These two products used together are actually a good combination as the bha will lower the ph of your skin and so the ascorbic acid will work more effectively. What percentage is the ascorbic acid you are using? If the percentage is very high, it might, however, cause you some irritation when used with the bha so be careful. If the combination causes you some irritation then use them together every second or third day. I hope this helps :-)

    Does someone have any idea why CeraVe combines acids with niacinamide? They eliminate effects of each other.

    • @lelasultana603

      Because niacinimide goes with everything also with acids.

    Does this help with acne scars ?

    • @AllThatGlows
      @AllThatGlows  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there. Thank you for your comment. No it doesn't help with acne scars. You should try Cerave's Resurfacing Retinol Serum for acne scars. Usually people have good results with this.
