Wild how places in my city (Toronto) basically match every place name in England. We have both a Regent Park area and a High Park. Regent Park though is what you Brits call a "council estate," while High Park here is a proper park where all the cyclists run loops every morning and weekend.
I have a Giant TCR in medium and another in small. They feel equally comfortable to ride. The small has a 2cm longer stem to make up for the slightly shorter top tube.
Here’s what I don’t understand: as a Londoner who moved overseas 20+ years ago, I was back home recently and saw so many people on bikes, both commuting and ‘serious’ roadies, way more than when I was living and riding there, Britain has loads of World Tour riders, yet the domestic professional racing scene is dying. Where is the investment? Surely some of these Regents Park crew are connected to big investment banks that can spend a few quid on supporting domestic racing? How is it that the is seemingly more interest than ever, yet the British racing scene is on its knees?
@jackseph03 Man this is such a good comment and exactly why i am trying to make more race videos. Here's my views. Attitides have changed, most people i talk to dont race because they dont want to bin their expensive bike or get injured. The problem seems ground up, we need more people at races for the race scene to grow/survive. From what i can tell people like me (Cat 3/4 riders) just arent showing up on a mass scale because most people would rather hit hard group rides. Realistically, my demographic probably represents the largest scale of the cycling community. I want to race more and open up the convo about people coming to join even if they feel like they arent going to be competing for the win.
Another great video, Max. I’ll be interested in the review of the VanRysel and the Magene head unit. I’ve ordered their power meter which seems to be unbelievable value.
RCR Replica up next week, its been fun to ride. The Magene is great value and like i said, its very intuitive to use, im trying to get hold of a power meter to try. I think Magene will really be a big player in the western market before long
That is a fine looking bike. As I've said before, would love to have some of those events around by me but just looks too many cyclists in London/Richmond park. Socks definitely under. As for IGP bike computer, that is interesting. I have original Wahoo Bolt V1 and it's still going strong so see no reason to change yet. However, I'm of similar thinking that I'll never use all functions on a computer so why spend £500+. Does IGP have Di2 integration? I do like to see what gear I'm in.
I’m torn between the two sock under if they’re not whiter than white, socks over if they’re in immaculate condition Max , when you get to my age 58 you don’t really care that much 🤣. Keep up the good work 👍🏽💪🏾
Another good video, Max. Completely agree with you on the big brands and high end computers. Gone with a Garmin 530 and its more than adequate. Same with bikes, purchased a ribble ultra sl last year, supposedly the most aerobike and it possibly is. Faster than my friends Sl8 and half the price
I know that some computers are better than others with directions- Garmin costs loads because of the re-routing, which is cool. But mostly I’ve always been ok with pretty standard functions and not found I’ve needed much more
@SCUK_Media I follow Sportful_uk on Instagram and they share them there, they also have a Strava group. The Maap event i saw on their Instagram- Maap.rides. Thats next weekend.
You put some great 🚴 vlogs out max I wear castelli clothing i see you have sportful what's your opinion on this clothing they have some great colours 👍
Yeah absolutely- i really like their summer kit, the SRK jersey is nice, i think the one i got is a bit too large though as i ordered a size large and should probably be a medium
Couple of points: Firstly I would recommend not showing any residential areas in your vids around where you live, another youtuber had his bikes stolen recently although I know you keep yours indoors but still dont want to risk it. Secondly how does the Ibex 3 compare to the Ibex 2? I have the 1 and 2 and the 2 is more mushroomy than the 1. I am waiting to get the 3 when its in stock somewhere.
Thank you man, yeah the Ibex 3 has a few nice upgrades, it has an adjustment twister on the back so you can self adjust it and not have to rely on the flexi fit. Its also carbon reinforced in the front. Ive completely stopped wearing the 2 now. Paris prefers the Furion as its not quite so mushroomy- she said the same thing as you
If it wasn't for live Strava segments, I would have gotten a Chinese bike computer, unfortunately that's something none of them can do yet. Also if I buy a used Garmin or Wahoo today, when I come to sell it later, I won't have lost too much value. If you try to sell a Chinese brand computer or components or bike or frame, there's no resale value at all.
Socks over or under your bib tights?
Always over.... 😎
100% over!
Under
socks over just looks weird
@daveridesagain Classy man 🤝🏻

Great video Max. How's the Siroko kit for size? What I mean is, normal sizing, or must size up (Eastern sizing). Thanks
I’m afraid I haven’t tried Soroko kit, just the Sportful kit. I wear a medium top/jacket and a large bib

All my socks are perfectly white because I hate riding in the rain!!! 😏😉
Are white helmets cheaper then ?

I concur - I've also got to stop eating cinnamon buns.
Watts per cinnamon roll
Where do you find the invites for these meets?
@SCUK_Media I follow Sportful_uk on Instagram and they share them there, they also have a Strava group.

Riding around on flat ground in the cold seems absolutely miserable! I guess good zone 2
This is literally London’s only option for the next 5 months…. We’re as upset about it as you are
@@thewattlifenot really same time of day you could head up to whitestone pond 3 ways up/ down
That shop is always busy I walk pass it every day the amount of people outside is unbelievable
It’s doing something right- I need to go back and try a few other things, their Instagram has 175k followers. Lol
@ don’t go on a Saturday the amount of people waiting to go in is a joke I deliver the post for this shop that how I know about it
Glad to see them doing well
Soooo, what’s the views on the bike then? Looks rather decent.
Oh it’s very decent- had a fun day filming it for a review.
There’s tonnes to unravel. I like a low bike and that’s what this is
Fortitude is the best.

Always been over after riding with Belgians 15 years ago. You’ve never see European with mudguards either.
Nice to know I’ve inadvertently stollen both those characteristics
White socks over, other colours under
This is perhaps the Number one rule for bib tights
Socks over, pants too !
Full superman
