- Tory peer Nicky Morgan has warned the Conservatives against challenging Rishi Sunak's leadership despite 'difficult results' in the local elections.
The former Education Secretary said changing Prime Minister would not "change the Party's fortunes" and "divided parties don't win elections".
She urged Conservatives to "double down" and "carry on doing what they are doing in government".

Speaking to a left wing Tory for advice on how the party should behave moving forward is laughable... Division within the Conservative Party is not the main cause for their collapsing support. The fact their party is not conservative by any reasonable definition is, after all why would conservatives vote for the Tories when they behave like a less radical, more incompetent Labour party... The fact they have repeatedly betrayed those who voted for them & the fact their watered down version of Labour's policies have ruined this country is. I am done voting for left wing parties, which includes left wing parties wearing a conservative skin suit to trick people in to giving them power.
I suspect the turn out for these election was also rock bottom and the results so far tend to show the main reason Labour has picked up seats is directly because the conservative in name only voter base has totally collapsed and not that they are suddenly popular. Labour's vote share has barely increased, even as their main opposition is collapsing. Even though I despise the man, Tony Blair did not have this problem. When he got elected it was a landslide of new support alongside the collapse of the Tories.
The Tories & Labour are just a different cheek of the same corrupt, nanny state authoritarian a*shole. BOTH need to go if this country is to ever recover from their decades of failure, incompetence and betrayal.
She was my MP for Charnwood, Loughborough area. What was once a nice university town has been turned into a cesspit immigration hub by the council. Nice villages have been built into shoe box housing estates. Labour will be even worse

Politics as a system is broken. Britain is good example of this. Politics today is all about talk and not getting things done sadly. I would hazard a suggestion that we need radical change, but that is not what Britain does. Here is a proposal to consider what if we no longer vote but for an oversight committee that appoints a management team based on meritocracy to run the country. We vote on a mission statement for our country and now we can measure progress. More importantly if progress is not evident we dont have to wait 5 years to vote the useless politicians out!
