Fantastic tutorial, Jesse!🙌 Your tips and insights make fly tying seem so much easier-loved the step-by-step approach! Keep up the fantastic contents! 🙂
Jesse, this is such a great series! You are doing a great job with the content and presentation here. My question on this fly is - are the bead chains lighter and help keep this fly from sinking into weeds/grass in skinny water? I fish the Texas coast and find want more flies that will not get buried in that grass and need cleaning after every cast. Thanks again!
Great pattern. You tied it in size 2; fishing the flats in Tampa Bay usually dictates a smaller fly, like a size 6. Do you feel that it would be too small to attract a good fish?
@BackwaterFlyFishing It is pretty equivalent. I was comparing it to a Dai-Riki 810, size 2 and the SC15 looks huge. The SC15, size 2 is pretty equivalent to an Umpqua XS 420 BN5X size 4.
great roster of saltwater flies!

The #2 sc15 is a smaller hook. Very much like a #4 007 or a bit smaller.

Do you sell a 12 box set of your favorite flys?
Not anymore unfortunately. But I do still sell some on www.backwaterflies.com
