This is such a great example of how important it is to spend time, dig deep and get creative with what you already have instead of constantly lusting after the latest gear and barely scratching the surface.....and thus ending up only using presets and the same sounds as everybody else! Thank you so much for this!!
I like when you're panning for Tone and Effects "gold" in the endless sound river of the HX Stomp and turn up with such valuable nuggets. Your sound discovery and designing is impressive. Thanks for giving us a look at how you do it!
This was a really inspiring video. Obviously the preset you came up with sounded glorious but more than that, it was an example of thinking "what's the sound I'm trying to achieve? what do I need to do to achieve it?". Amazing what's possible.
In an attempt to cure GAS and minimise in general I just put together a Nano board with Xotic SL Drive, Greer Light Speed & HxStomp with 2 button Mission controller. Seeing the sound design possibilities of HxStomp the Strymon & Source Audio big boys may gather dust now. JC, you’re a force for financial good!
Wow JNC amazing find in this secret mix of settings/EFX to get that style of heavenly reverb. You did it again!!! So so good. You could do snapshots for each vowel letter or use an EXT volume controller to control the Vowels. YES PLEASE add to the folder. You rock.
Eventide H9 has a glitch reverb that I love. That bleat chop trem is getting into that territory. Never would have thought about this setup. Thank you!
Fun, I often make a path with a verb and a bunch of random effects; filters, distortion, modulation, compression, pitch... then I just fiddle with them, turn them on and off until I find something I like.
JNC, thank-you! Might you please reproduce this preset in a future video on your Helix floor? I'd benefit seeing you work through that workflow vs the Stomp. Thanks and cheers for a Happy '23 with more of your great insights. From WA State, Dave
Hey John....this is SUPER USEFUL!!! Thanks....quick question, have you found anything in the helix that ets close to the Strymon Cloud Reverb? I run the STOMP as the brains of my rig and have been contemplating getting a bigsky mainly just for the cloud reverb. I'd love to hear your opinion on if the STOMP reverbs could do it
If I'm still playing when they release a helix 2, or whatever it may be called, I'm buying. Line 6 has earned it. No other company even comes close to product support alone, nevermind the quality of sounds / effects at the price point. That is a pretty good idea combining these effects for totally new sounds. Another reason Helix is on top.
I don't know where you play, but all they want to hear at the places I played, are clean, crunch, lead and maybe a phaser/flanger song or two :) A lot of nights I used one patch and turned Chorus an Dist on /offand used volume and tone judiciously :). But John DOES find the best stuff in Helix! Best Regards
Can you ever do a video trying to do a replication of the new strymon cloudburst on Helix? Or do you have any suggestions on what is the closest way to get the ensemble sound from that pedal? Thanks!
Can you control these vowel movements with an LFO inside HX Stomp?, this of course can be automated on Helix Native and a DAW but does the HX Stomp can do it on its own?
I hope line 6 comes out with a new helix that is the same footprint but with a larger and touch display getting rid of all the knobs and maximizing the screen space while still keeping the foot switches I hate the current tiny display. This would allow for an updated user interface which will allow you to have a more intuitive and streamlined User interface.
The intro reverb sounds super similar to the walrus audio Lore demo. I wonder if you threw a short delay in with high feedback you could get that choppy dispersion effect. Much appreciated!
I’ve kept my Big sky for the choir and mobius for the format settings I think this probably good enough for me to let them go now. Now if you could sort out a banjo setting😂
this is cool, esp considering that the effects required to do this have been available since v2.5 and so many people went on and on about how "bad" the reverbs are until about 3.15
Literally me after watching these videos: “ooooh! He makes it look so easy! I’ll make that in no time!” Me 30 minutes later “what is this trash?! It sounds NOTHING LIKE THE VIDEO!!!!” Seriously some master level stuff going on on here.
Line 6, put this man on the factory preset team

Thanks a million for turning those knobs For our benefit and pleasure. Merry Yule time
I think John finds stuff that even make Line 6 reps go “Oh snap it can do that?”💀
Congrats on this effect! Sounds great and thanks for sharing!
Absolute genius. I never in a million years would have thought of that reverb/wah combination.

Lovely trick. I setup Helix Floor with two side paths and just reversed the expression pedal on the wah. Got a choir! thanks for the great vid.
Wow! you nailed that sound. thank you for sharing this, it sounds absolutely amazing.
Nailed it John.Your sound design is very impressive indeed.
Thank you John this is such a great find man. I’m thrilled! Rushing hone to go implement this idea for Sundays set. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This is insane. Thank you so much for sharing! Gonna spend some hours getting lost in this sort of thing...
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! the helix never ceases to amaze!
Thank you, John! These Stomp preset builds and your lessons are what bring me to your channel. Glad to be a patron!
Amazing what this unit can do. Very inspiring and useful. Thanks for sharing.

Always enjoy your super-tasty, melodic, Killer-playing. Happy Holidays from NYC ( great stuff ). I definitely Got-Lost in it.
Loved these sounds John, please put in the folder. Thanks for all sound scaping skills.
Yes!!! This is wicked! Please drop in the folder!
Idk what to say, just your tips are always incredible! Lovely delays and reverbs!
Eventide H9 has a glitch reverb that I love. That bleat chop trem is getting into that territory. Never would have thought about this setup. Thank you!
Whaaaaaaaaa or Whoooooooooooo!!! Thnx dude, love the sounds. Really inspiring stuff.
That seriously sounds amazing! Can't wait to try this out.
Gotta love it when happy accidents happen. Well done here.

This Is a great video,,thanks Jhon for share us,,l wait for more!!

Thank you for adding this, like a new pedal day. 😁🤯😁
Genius Johnathan! I will try the idea on a GT1000.
"and if I put on the Dynamic Plate..."
it's just beautiful!

Fantastic bro!!
Once again im sitting here hoping they add a couple LFO as controllers, and hold button for secondary modes 😅
🙌

Just grab a Stomp in the meantime. Helix 2 is not on the horizon anytime soon, btw.
So dope!
I would like something like this in the FM3 but i feel like it’s so limited.
Really? I Love the Clouds in the FM3 - nimbostratus etc - I would try incorporating that with the Vocoder and see what happens?
Yeah grate, it will be good to put it in the HX/Stomp folder :)
Thanks
PS : The JC EXP Patches last update seams to be for the 3.15 in March 2022...
Can you ever do a video trying to do a replication of the new strymon cloudburst on Helix? Or do you have any suggestions on what is the closest way to get the ensemble sound from that pedal? Thanks!
Impressive. There's much that we can add in for this latest patch
Wow!!!! Amazing!!!
Wow! Amazing!

Really good discovery John! I'm curious to hear how different it would if you try putting the Dynamic Plate at the end of the chain.

Fabulous tanks folder please always helpful tanks
Good job! Very cool!! And useful!!
hi brother! amazing sound!
can you make something similar on the QC?
try it with a phaser, because a phaser is similar to a slow wah, just different frequencies
Great sound! I have a Helix Native, which soundpack should I buy?
How many presets are in. your "Helix and HX Stomp General Presets"
The intro reverb sounds super similar to the walrus audio Lore demo. I wonder if you threw a short delay in with high feedback you could get that choppy dispersion effect. Much appreciated!
Is this possible with the HXStomp?
I think everyone wants you to drop this in the folder. 😂
Very smart!
Hi John, I believe I have purchased your presets. Do I still have acess to them? Where do I find the download link if I have puchased them?
I’ve kept my Big sky for the choir and mobius for the format settings I think this probably good enough for me to let them go now. Now if you could sort out a banjo setting😂
I have the big sky and I absolutely love it. But for convenience the hx stomp gets the job done
I would like to purchase this reverb patch. I'm at your site. Which one?
This sounds amazing! Do you have this available as a preset I could purchase for my Helix LT?
never seen anyone digging so any of the boss multieffects
Hey John which folder is this patch in? I bought your helix bundle but I can't find these tones. Thanks in advance....
Also any chance you could add the intro pads to Patreon as a backing track?
this is cool, esp considering that the effects required to do this have been available since v2.5 and so many people went on and on about how "bad" the reverbs are until about 3.15

Is this in your folder?
Right, that's it, I can't take this anymore…. i'm buying your patches!
Strymon downvoted your video, so you must be doing something right for the Helix community, John. Cheers for what you do!
Hey Jon. Is this preset in the effects folder or the leads?
Fudgecakes. This is going on the next andsoistopped album.
I'm listing my GT-1000 right now lol
why bother with effects that are useless for nothing, waste of time
Lack of creativity on your part
