1. Should I add a preservative to the DIY Whipped Soap?
✨Answer: Yes, Period!
Reason: Bacteria, Mold, Fungus on your face & body! EWWW. Refrigeration will NOT preserve your product. Nasties start growing within 24 hours even when refrigerated. However, please refrigerate if you do not use a preservative at your own risk.

To be clear, you can pipe in both formulations into your jar. However, the creamy formula will not have the pipe lines. I should have made this clearer in the video. 💜

Hello, I love your videos!!! I've noticed that for formula 2 (THICK), the percentages and/or grams listed in the description box is way different than shown in your actual video. I'm confused on which on is the most correct for what you made in video. Also, how Much Activated Charcoal (%) should be used to make the formulation in total 100%? May you please share, or are you withholding because of business/sale purpose?

Im so happy that I just stumbled upon your amazing channel! Ive been wanting to test different formulas for whipped soap bases so this is perfect timing. For the pipeable version I unfortunently dont have Butylene Glycol on hand. In researching the ingredient, it seems as though Prop 1,3 could be used. (I have this on hand) Do you think that would make a good substitute? Thanks!!

can you use just SCI and decyl glucoside together for the thicker formula? i ran out of coco betaine and i only have decyl glucoside to work with. Are they compatiable just those two, and can you put a oil in This recipe like castor oil or safflower?

Welcome! You can try another thickener. Depending on the thickener you may have to decrease the usage rate. You may be able to fill the remainder with another humectant like glycerin. ✨💜
In your opinion, what is gentler on the skin; a cleanser like this that is made with surfactants or traditional handmade liquid soap? I want to believe traditional soap made with potassium hydroxide is better for the skin, but it always feels harsher than these types of formulas to me.

If I used the wholesale supplies plus whipped soap base would I skip the first 2 phases?
If I am not mistaken, it may already have its own thickener. So, you would only have to add the charcoal, fragrance, and maybe some oils if you would like. Best to test it out and add as needed. I hope this helps. 💜😊

do you take the first formula in the fridge? I was in doubt because you cover it a few times with aluminum foil and don't say what you did next and it comes back with it in another texture.

I tried the thickener one but it didn't thicken
I don't recall seeing you use lye in any of your soaps but I notice lots of soap makers put lye in their batches knowing that its harmful. How do you feel about it?
Hi Jakissia, lye is not harmful once it is binded with oils and butters used in soap making. It’s chemistry, and happens when molecules combine and turn into new molecules. If properly formulated and properly cured, cold process soap contains no lye once it’s a finished product.
As for this particular tutorial - it is soap but not the same type of soap. Yaya is not using oils or butters as her surfactants but entirely different ingredients and these do not need lye to produce a soap. Hope this helps!

How did you learn all this? What school?
I majored in health science with a concentration in nutrition. Making cosmetics started as a hobby. I literally went into the kitchen and starting testing formulations. I learned from failing and taking notes on what I did wrong. I hope this helps. 💜✨
