    I regularly go out in Hilly forest and do 60+ Km on Eco mode on my Focus Jam2 (Bosch gen 4 motor / 625Wh battery) and Use one bar of power up (20%). Although this motor is not the quietest, it's amazingly powerful and efficient and I only need to change it up to Tour mode when the incline is pretty steep. Eco mode certainly gives me enough assistance on 95% of the terrain I cycle on, which is mostly hilly forest. Although I've been a keen cyclist for many years (54 years old), I was finding it less and less enjoyable climbing the 800m to the top of our local hills. Now with my new eMBT, I have as much fun going up the hills as I do coming down.

      The Focus Jam2 is a bit more expensive than the Cube but with great features too. It was second on my list.
      You're right about the Bosch motors. And they're about to become even better because in a few days Bosch is releasing software updates for both the motor (increasing torque from 75 NM to 85 NM) and some head units such as the Kiox which will allow for GPS navigation and other improvements. I'm looking forward to them.
      You must be in good shape to ride in eco mode and use so little battery! The range you get from the bike is impressive!
      Ride on!

      @@ruirodtube I cycle 30km every day to work on my normal bike, so I'm a decent enough cyclist...on flatter terrain. It's the prolonged steep hills that are starting to be less fun but my eMBT is just making it so much fun to cycle in the forest again. Anyway great video and thanks for the content.

    Great commentary on the bike, especially the Kiox. Found your channel while searching the Cube Stereo, glad I did. Currently deciding which ebike to go for after 8 years full suspension mtb riding & thixx x video has helped a lot! Thanks again. 👍

    instead of only distance I would like to hear more about elevation and distance combined all together.
    bike will be used by me mostly on climbs and decents, no flat roads.
    can you please share your thoughts and range

      Steven Short I hope you’ll enjoy the bike. Make sure to test the 625 Wh model. It’s great.
      Weight is an important factor but also how much power your legs can deliver (fitness), the outside temperature and the type of terrain.
      Generally my mileage gets better throughout the Spring and Summer seasons.
      Also, the 160 mm models come with 27,5” wheels while the 140 mm comes with the 29”. I prefer the 29” because with our weight they overcome the obstacles better.
      Enjoy!

    Hi , what do you think of your cube bike as I’m thinking of buying an mtb E-bike but haven’t made up my mind yet?👍

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Donna,
      I love my Cube e-MTB. It has all the features I was looking for and the price is reasonable. With it I'm able to overcome some difficult features which I previously couldn't with my Trek e-mtb.
      Just beware that this e-bike needs TLC and I wouldn't advise it unless you either have basic maintenance/cleaning skills or a good bike shop supporting you. The Trek I bought in 2016 didn't need as many adjustments/maintenance/cleaning.
      Let me know what you decided.
      Cheers.

    What is that noise « Tak tak tak « ?

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it's the head tube that makes that noise. It's annoying af! It happens when I removed the head cap screw to place the smartphone holder. To get rid of it I had to try a few times unscrewing the head cap and releasing a bit of the tension. Now it cracks a lot less.

    What is this weird sound? Like changing gears all the time

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pawel Walkus it’s the vertical tube where the handlebar is supported. I fixed it but it came back. Then I fixed it again and it isn’t cracking after one ride.
      Any suggestions how to get rid of it permanently?

    • @pawelwalkus5160
      @pawelwalkus5160 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ruirodtube Do I understand it right. You mean the headset or the stem?

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pawel Walkus I believe it’s the rings below the stem (headset spacers). They‘re compressed against eachother and make cracking noises when they shift relative to eachother.
      What do you think?

    • @Black_Onyx
      @Black_Onyx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ruirodtube Did you tried to apply some grease on the stem bolts and maybe check the torque. Same with the stem cap bolt.

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pascal Pereira I solved it on my third attempt. I don’t know if I was lucky or if I applied the right technique but I started by unscrewing all the bolts and torqued the head bolt first and then the two stem bolts. So far so good.
      Thanks for the suggestion.
