ST.CATHERINE CATHEDRAL DUMAGUETE | Parts The Explorer

The St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral is the oldest stone church in Negros. It was originally built in 1574-1576 and reconstructed in 1885.
The Belfry was built in the early 1800s to provide a watchtower, to warn residents of incoming pirate attacks so they could escape or prepare themselves. The Belfry saved many lives during its time as a watchtower.
