I was also kinda thinking TATMR was set while Edward was being repaired at some point but AFTER Old Iron due to the fact only Thomas and engines 1-7 were in it and not after Edward’s Exploit since other engines like Duck, Daisy, BoCo, Bill & Ben, and the Scottish Twins weren’t around. The Class 42s might not have been around during Old Iron in 1952 but who’s to say Diesel 10 couldn’t have been an early experiment when diesels were first being built in the early 1930s or even sometime in at least the early-mid 1920s?
The “Look out for the train!” Was actually on a couple of copies of the Thomas Gets Tricked VHS when Thomas & The Trucks was playing. Other copies of the VHS don’t have it nor the DVD.
I’m guess the lost marketing video was just meant to say, in a strange way, that the Thomas brand is so powerful that it’ll survive no matter if even an apocalypse occurs, which is meant to further entice investors… somehow.
I think Edward would be in the works from old iron since then you’d have to explain why bill Ben Duck and BoCo weren’t there. This is a great video, I consider myself a all knowing Thomas guy but I learned some stuff I didn’t know about this little blue frick. Great work!
The theory makes sense if you leave out Edward' Exploit and assume the film is right before Duck takes Charge. Ironically enough you could still assume it takes place right after EE if it weren't for Duck being so prominent in it, cuz Boco and the Twins' absence can be handwaved by saying they were just chilling at the Clay Works/Quarry during the film.
I'm so facinated by this genre of video like there's so much to unpack with all of these seemingly normal franchises. Also that metal claw train gave me nightmares as a kid I don't know how they thought that was a good idea
The same reason they made new models for TATMR: The original TV models(S1-5) had been repaired and refurbished so many times that using them for the film cameras would simply expose the imperfections of the props from years of use. Plus they were made to be seen on a TV screen as opposed to the big screen. Best example of why just using the TV sets and props isn’t suitable for Film is Star Trek: Generations. The Enterprise-D sets seen throughout are masked with dark lighting as they were made to fit the aspect ratio of television sets during the late 80’s to early 90’s and you can really notice it alongside the ill-fitting DS9 uniforms on certain actors.
I heard that the Andrew Lloyd Webber adaptation wasn’t going to be a tv show but instead a musical, this would’ve been done by the same guy who gave us cats so take that as you will. 9:38 I think at first glance that would make sense until you realize Duck and Boco appeared in Edward’s exploit, two characters that weren’t in the movie, or in the show afterward in Boco’s case It’s not really lost media but there’s also that clip of the Strasburg day out with Thomas locomotive with its original eyes melting One other thing I’d add to this iceberg is a few deleted scenes like Terrence being the one pulling the lime wagon in Ghost Train/Percy’s Ghostly Trick, Gordon and having a bigger role in Haunted Henry as well as diesel supposedly having a role too, and a deleted scene with one of the Scottish twins from the “New” series episode where it’s basically tortoise and the hare with Edward and Spencer
What about the old “Thomas and the Mad Bomber” TH-cam series? And how after almost over a decade, episode 3 hasn’t released and how it’s a much darker, sort of obscure fan-made creation today
If anyone confused I'll tell you, Hiro of the Rails was going to be film like season 12 style with cgi faces and models. The reason it was never brought to life because of budget cuts, so it was turn into cgi instead.

The things about Fergus and the Drayton props are wrong, we got to see Fergus at a model show from last year (it was some Gauge 1 exhibition I forgot what it was called) and it's not the theme park that's poorly looking after the props, it's the people who put them in or work on them, Sam Wilkenson, who resurfaced Fergus at the show, is responsible for the recent props going in and maybe all of them but I ain't sure
Well if the people in charge of the models are from the theme park, then it’s the theme park who’s responsible, isn’t it?
@@JustCallMeHeavy dude what is your problem with me
You first say some goofy shit on my channel and you're just being randomly negative towards me and I haven't a clue who you are
@@numptypootis8012 I was just only saying what I believed there, because, if the people who are in charge of the models work for the company, wouldn’t they be responsible? Seeing as the company continues to let the models rot.
@@numptypootis8012 Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound rude towards you.
I mean he already has an illegally-built claw. I guess conventual explanations go out the fucking window at that point.
5:37 not the hero we asked for but the hero we deserved
The Thomas Iceberg A.K.A Unsolved Mystery’s Within Sodor
8:17 I quite litterally screamed, jumped a foot in the air and threw my computer mouse across the room.
The “Look out for the train!” Was actually on a couple of copies of the Thomas Gets Tricked VHS when Thomas & The Trucks was playing. Other copies of the VHS don’t have it nor the DVD.
I don't believe Hiro of the Rails was meant to be a model series special, though the face masks were sculpted to base faces off of for merchandise
He made some corrections in the pinned comment
I’m guess the lost marketing video was just meant to say, in a strange way, that the Thomas brand is so powerful that it’ll survive no matter if even an apocalypse occurs, which is meant to further entice investors… somehow.
1:06 wow... had that video tape growing up..
so many good memories of watching the shows and playing with thomas toys as a kid. im glad to see people care about and remember the series still.
2:17 he used to give me nightmares..
Ironically enough you could still assume it takes place right after EE if it weren't for Duck being so prominent in it, cuz Boco and the Twins' absence can be handwaved by saying they were just chilling at the Clay Works/Quarry during the film.
i think that the edwards exploit idea is pretty accurate
The voice that said look out for the train sounds like Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters
11:45 so that’s where Timothy the ghost engine’s face came from
Is anyone going to talk about the face at the bottom of the iceberg?
*That thing is crumbling, Jesus.*

@hater123 hi bfb fan
Honestly I'm kinda surprised Butch wasn't on the iceberg anywhere
Nigel the cut pack member and the dowt eye melting should also be here
Bruh, I didn't know most of these but still somehow knew about the "Look out for the train" one all the way down in the depths
11:28 No wonder where they got timothy's face from. Scary.
I'm so facinated by this genre of video like there's so much to unpack with all of these seemingly normal franchises. Also that metal claw train gave me nightmares as a kid I don't know how they thought that was a good idea

Yes sir! Thomas, did you go fishing?

the good ol' days of gwr studios

Why did thomas and friends get too scary.
It was always fcking scary with All of the scary scene and half train and human hybrid.
Says the one with the shed 17 profile picture
@@unclecrankles tru
your profile picture is literally a screencap from shed 17
i was kinda expecting to see shed 17 in here lol
I’mma be real with you dawg, I have zero interest in Thomas or trains but this was surprisingly well made. Keep it up.
Well at least we have the hara model railway museum with most of their models in good condition
Seriously tho, why did they not use the old model of edward instead of making a new one?

Hol up I wanna hear about the doobie brothers' secret involvement
The penis joke in the episode a scarf for percy is the very very VERY 1st adult joke in the thomas franchise
I think it was the only one
@@ciarandaragh8676 there was a part where a farmer told mavis to shove her train up her ass (no i'm not joking)
I heard that the Andrew Lloyd Webber adaptation wasn’t going to be a tv show but instead a musical, this would’ve been done by the same guy who gave us cats so take that as you will.
9:38 I think at first glance that would make sense until you realize Duck and Boco appeared in Edward’s exploit, two characters that weren’t in the movie, or in the show afterward in Boco’s case
It’s not really lost media but there’s also that clip of the Strasburg day out with Thomas locomotive with its original eyes melting
One other thing I’d add to this iceberg is a few deleted scenes like Terrence being the one pulling the lime wagon in Ghost Train/Percy’s Ghostly Trick, Gordon and having a bigger role in Haunted Henry as well as diesel supposedly having a role too, and a deleted scene with one of the Scottish twins from the “New” series episode where it’s basically tortoise and the hare with Edward and Spencer
13:13 - “Stripped away his ‘Engine rights’ and turned him into a generator.”
…HOLD UP?!
What about the old “Thomas and the Mad Bomber” TH-cam series? And how after almost over a decade, episode 3 hasn’t released and how it’s a much darker, sort of obscure fan-made creation today
Many TH-cam series got cancelled, I have no idea what makes this one so special
So you’re telling me Leo actually released Episode 2?
TATMR doesn't take place during S2. The arches needing strengthening, whereas a whole section needed to be rebuilt.
That and its clearly a completely different Viaduct.
The Fergus prop is with Mattel atm. Sam brought it to a train show once.
5:13 Big Mickey being sentient in Season 22 at least heavily implies that this is the case.
On the image of the iceburg, where is that picture of that face mask on the bottom come from?
It was a prototype face for James, pre S1
THAT was James?
Wonder where it is now...
@@sdmedia1323 ITS ONE OF JAMES’ FACES
If anyone confused I'll tell you, Hiro of the Rails was going to be film like season 12 style with cgi faces and models. The reason it was never brought to life because of budget cuts, so it was turn into cgi instead.

Where's the Marklin Engine? Honestly I think many items belong in the wrong layers.
What's the mystery about the Marklin engine? It was there to move stuff offscreen.
@@Alcofoamer The Marklin engine appeared on screen multiple times as night train headlights. A pencil or a hand was included in the list, might as well include the Marklin engine.
@@Alcofoamer Yeah but the fact that there's a regular faceless train roaming about during Season 1 sounds like the beginning sounds like the kinda cursed thing you'd find in an Iceberg list. The fact that its prominently visible during Off the Rails makes it all the more eerie if you're not aware of its actual purpose.
Actually What I Found Out Was That The Märklin Engine (Not Shown In Thomas) But His Model Was Actually Used For Puffs For Tugs With A Bigger Funnel, Bigger Headlamp And A Cowcatcher, And When Tugs Ended It’s Only Season Puffa/The Märklin Engine (Since They Share The Same Model) Were Used As A Scrap Engine In Thomas Again.
