It is a reoccurring theme when you ask Conservative constituencies about what their MP does for them. There's a significant portion who simply don't do the real job of championing their area and bettering the area.
I suffer what feels like a rotten borough, always Tory regardless of what person or animal wears the ribbon. My current MP was parachuted in to replace the last one. This MP has no ties to the local community, has business and property investments in her own home area but hasn't even bothered to self enrich via our area beyond stealing the job away from someone who would care about the place. Our last MP at least was active even if I don't agree with their party or scandals.
I think it is clear we need to ensure MPs can only represent places they've lived for at least 10 years and have ties to. I think it is important we get back to voting for local representatives rather than the circus of voting on which party leader is the more amusing clown.

Their one and only job should be being an MP. They get paid well enough for it, and expenses. Maybe we should also remove a bunch of benefits too, like said expenses that go beyond operating their constituency office. Force them to use the same services the rest of us do. Maybe then we'll get decent public transport and a functioning health and social care system again if they also had to rely on them. They do this in Sweden. But, IDK, I think there's a reason why LibDems and Labour as well are starting to make inroads in what was formerly Tory country. As that young vote in cities ages and starts to have the opportunity to move out into the suburbs, they are not like the previous generations- they may have financially improved but they still lack the kind of security previous generations had in the past. That is gone. So the voting demographic will slowly change as the demographics of the neighborhoods shift.
Besides the thinking of younger generations is just generally a bit different politically. Tories have been very good at appealing to older well established property and business owners but seem to have to have lost the ability and knowledge of how to do that, and have had to resort to "culture wars" instead. The problem is for them that older property owners are dwindling group, and are being replaced by a younger group with different concerns, they have upset business owners large and small, and they can never win at their "culture wars" enough to satisfy those that care about it, who will just vote for more extreme parties next time around.

She stayed on because she realized her daughter would lose her job as her secretary/assistant.

Nadine has not stepped down because she employs her daughter as a secretarial assistant with a generous House of Commons salary. Her daughter will lose that cushy job if she resigns.
A bit sad though that some people know about I'm a Celebrity rather than the good, sound political reasons why Dorries should stand down immediately.

More to the point what planet are the people who vote for them on? Judging by this, it's the one where the Clangers live.

What topics would her constituents like Nadine Dorris to talk about? Something other than herself perhaps and her love interest in an inflated toad?

These interviews were conducted in Ampthill, which is the largest place in the constituency but, speaking as a resident of a nearby constituency, seems very affluent. The only supermarket is Waitrose, to give you a clue. It would have been interesting to see what people in neighbouring but much less affluent Flitwick had to say - possibly a few deletives would have to be bleeped in. The older I get, the more sensible the single transferable voting system they have in the Irish Republic seems, because the voters can choose between different candidates from the same party.

There's so much wrong with your comment it'd take paragraphs to address it so I won't bother.
But why do you have such a problem with sovereignty?
