Yeah I told myself the same thing until I bought one.
Unfortunately, until it can rack focus it's still a consumer drone.
So TRUE!!! I bought one and regret it but a total awesome drone!!
This is something that would go hand in hand rather well with Disney Studio's 'Cars, Action!' attraction. (don't know if that's the right title; I'm used to the French one XD)

I've always wanted a DJI drone. I had the opportunity to fly the inspire 1 it was an outstanding drone I can't believe that they made it better but they did.
Can't wait for my Inspire 2 in January. Have loved using my Inspire 1 since 04-2015 and Phantom 3 and 4. Hoping for even better things from the Inspire 2. Thanks for your amazing products.
How did they eliminate the Inspire 2 sounds from the live dialog?

Bobster986 The 'drone' or 'whir' of the drone could easily be reduced or even eliminated in post processing because it is at a more or less constant pitch, and is predictable. They could have even done it live (I'm not sure that they did) if they simply filtered it, kind of like how active noise cancelling headphones easily block out load droning noises like that of a plane, or the roar of a bus, or how many phone microphones filter background noise.
Bobster986 you can see when they used it as a normal camera and someone was holding it with a hockey mask or something they turned off the propellers
They still filmed in the air. Just watch the full stunt on their channel.
Edit: Also, thats a protective helmet in case that they catch the drone on their face instead of their hands. In most countries there are restrictions against drones being used within 30 metres of people. with the right licenses for commercial use, this can be reduced, but better safe than sorry.

That is the problem when filmmakers only concentrate about tech possibilities, but making a good film!

i tried a lot of this stuff for my music video projects using only the Mavic pro and the katana accessorie, DJI is amazing

i thought the drone did the stunt like a power loop or inverted yaw spin but it wasnt the drone

Just forgot to tell you that it makes just 20 minutes, not 25 (X5S)...beware!
It's great and all. but sucks for audio recording. make next drone quiet, food for thought.
it's going to be impossible to make the next drone quiet without sacrificing flight structure and camera quality. they knowingly make this trade every drone they produce because audio isn't needed when shooting with a drone.

Sorry DJI, but so much effort, dozens of employees, equipment costing hundreds of thousands of dollars for shooting short scene for B category film? It's use a sledge-hammer to crack a nut. Good news - the quality of DJI Inspire 2 camera meets the requirements of professional film.
