Stoked on the Inspire 2 so far. Expect the full review very soon. Wanted to learn everything about the camera before I did a full review though.

Hi I just to clarify you are using the Olympus 12mm F2 (a MFT lens that came out Sept 2014?)
QUESTION: are DNG's from the Inspire 2 different if taken from a CinemaDNG file than if captured as a photo?
I realize the resolution and dimensions are, but I'm really interested in its use for photographers, therefore the quality of an individual frame is more demanding. If you could throw some (photographic) DNG stills in the drive folder I'd be forever grateful!

Why does it for me show just a ton of single frames (photos) in the 5.2K folder?
That's how it shoots 5.2K footage. You then after to put the whole folder into Davinci or After Effects.

How much is extra propellers.
Do you have to have both of the batteries in for it to work? and if not does only having one mess with its stability or anything?
Not concerning the inspire, but you should some how set up an underwater camera in the water behind your house, might be cool to see what swims by.
devingraham should some one with not that much money get this or would be better to build one (BTW I know about the phantom 4 but I would put a DSLR on the built one and it would be way better

WOW, with the right lighting, the camera lens is so wide and such high quality, it doesn't even need color correction, not that I know much about cameras. Makes things easier for the team. Keep up the strong work!!!

always do updates with no propeller on. In case the system has an issue and powers on. You can get very hurt.

Inspires are neat. The two pilot dynamic makes the shots that much better.
Playing with one of the dng frames in photoshop right now and the amount of color information that can be coaxed out of that file is incredible!
Very nice in-depth review. very good and clear explanation about the drone and the camera. Also very generous of you to offer free footage. Thank you so much for not having annoying music in the background. I hate this modern trend. I don't know why people put it there. It just covers up what they're saying. You guys are smart, you put the background music when you're not talking. When the drone is flying. That makes perfect sense and how it should be.

The DJI Mavic has been very good to me. The gimbal broke after about 30 flights, and DJI repair of California fixed it for free, right away.

You can actually force the video Feed from the inspire 2 to be fpv only to our iPhone if you want. Under the camera setting. Nice vid. Congrats on the move. Looks like a great location !
Devin if you ever run into trouble with settings, or updates, or even physical damage - please let me know. Ive worked with DJI equip for over 10 years and know the in's and out's of troubleshooting and repairing the DJI line. Hope you enjoy the inspire 2, but don't hesitate to reach out when you can't get a hold of DJI for help.
Hey DeerFoot, do you know how to assign (camera reset) to one of the buttons on the I2?? I cant figure it out
Correction: camera center.
Greg Malone are you able to locate the menus for buttons C1 & C2? These will be the only customizable switches at the time. If you locate the menu (should be in gimbal settings) and select the C1 or C2 button - select "camera up/down" or "camera reset." This should also be available on the video screen opposite of the camera settings (left side of screen). Speaking form experience of the I1, haven't actually gotten to do much with the I2 yet but they are all very similar excepts firmwares

Nice video! Also have the Phantom 4 Pro with the monitor, and the 12mm Olympus lens, was flying a DJI S900 with the GH4. Looking forward to getting an Inspire 2 this year.
if you could, go over all your settings ie. FPS, D-log(or not), iso settings, exposure, WB, etc.
I had talked to you over Facebook a few years back and in turn I got a GoPro(after your recommendation) and love the film making. Now Im looking into getting the Mavic Pro and want to know the best settings since most are universal across the DJI's. FYI, I will be using this for Real Estate Films.

very cool first experience - ty for sharing !!! you 'bought' the house on the shore? with seas rising - that's brave - regardless of part 107, 333 or for fun - you always need to have a Visual Observer - you never know what can happen - lose an eye, finger, toe - your batteries, mem cards as well as the charger, drone and rc will have firmware updates - everything for the inspire 1 pro gets updates - even the x5 camera - but dji may have changed that - the 5k image is gorgeous - but i think i'll take you, your glidecam and the red anyday !!! enjoy island life

Stunning footage! Well done. I'll down load ProRes clips, into FCPX. A word on P4P + monitor, a number of pilots have reverted to IPad due to hiccups. DJI may have fixed. I use 12mm Olympus on GH4, killer low light.

Just a general drone thing: Always take the propellers off when modifying/updating the software. If they start spinning for any reason they can harm really badly.
Just spent some time playing with the raw files in Davinci, they look really nice!

But some day I have to fly a bird with a full frame DSLR sensor for sure. Can't wait to see some more on your Hawaii footage with your new Inspire 2!

Nice video and I've subscribed. Great smooth shots with no jerking, gorgeous scenery with some excellent fly downs really enjoyed it. Only problem not enough of it. I'm currently in the dilemma of deciding whether to upgrade from my Phantom 4 to the Phantom 4 pro or get the inspire 2.. Your video might be swaying me.... Well done.
For the Olympus 12mm 2.0 you have to be really careful with the lens being dirty. Something that always bothers me with that lens as it likes to attract oils and dirt.. 8:23 (left middle)
On the phone i could not get the FPV Camera but on the iPad it works right away and you do know you can hot swap batteries.
Amazing footage, really want to explore Hawaii now! Saving up for the Mavic since I'm on the road travelling long term.
Everything about THe RANGE, CHARGE TIME, TOP SPEED, Max flight time, max distance , max weight can carry , max altitude, response time, transmission distance, ZENMUSE X5RS, Crystalsky CS785U 7.85", performance in low and high temperature And Do the batteries actually self-heat in cold weather? Just one doubt please,
When you start flying quickly and backwards over the sea, which was the I2 height over the water? Were you using the "down sensors" or maintaining the height via the GPS?

I would love to see a review of how this drone performs in comparison to the DJI Mavic pro, and the Phantom 4 Pro! Also, I'm considering getting my Remote Pilot's license from the FAA so I can fly my drone legally for commercial purposes. Have you or any of your team members gone through the test? An update on the new FAA regulations would be awesome too :)

that file must of been huge..my phantom 4 files for 4 k is about 1 gig for 1:30 seconds.man thats as clear as it gets.just wish the price on these wasnt so much.
Are you concerned about large waves at all? Since your house is right on a beach...which is awesome! You guys should name that tree with the swing.
Do you have two of these drones, one for the team in Utah and one for you, or are you just going to ship/ trade it off each time you guys meet up???
