There's no charm in lack of hygiene.

What about the food that a chef rub it in his armpit?

I guess you didn't watch the video about the Chinese chef that before cooking rubbed some dried lamien on his feet, just to clean his toes...😄

I'll say this simple, street food as food is awesome, but the cheaper you go the worse version you'll encounter. So to avoid tarnishing the image of an otherwise yummy street food go to a decent eating place, a small restaurant if not an expensive one

Culture doesn't mean something you believe or do is right. In the past many cultures practiced cannibalism, is that ok? Humans evolve and learn from their mistakes hopefully.

Nah….. that isn’t true where all Indian washed their hands before eating particularly at street food stalls. Only dry few does in a posher surrounded environment. The country is in a real shortages of clean water access point, pipes connecting to the streets food vendors is still pretty much a big infrastructure lack off.
The toilet for public use is even worse - so imagine shit on finger nails got mixed with your food because the vendor did not wear gloves while picking up your food with their barehand after taking a dumb in the back street corners behind theirs store. We have seen it happening 🤮
On top of this-It is not a common practice in washing hands properly with new changing of clean water being provided on the street food in India for consumers=& thus failing sanitizing fact is widely accepted by the local India people.
Why lies = this is a bad mindset to say that because it’s a culture thing so it is ok to eat dirty contaminated food with bad handling food practices in India and mitigate all the cross contamination factors.
The world move from fifty years ago in cleanliness, personal hygiene and responsibility in the food services sector also changed with times.
Many cultures around the world eat food with their hand and a barehand food preparations is still in practices. However, the importance of doing so in a way that prevents and reduces food from cross contaminated are the heart and key in practicality.
Do Indian, Bangladesh and Pakistan not want to move forward and better their food culture to a more up to date standard. Becoming cleaner doesn’t mean loosing tradition or devalued any cultural beliefs in any aspect. Stop making excuses and time to start implementing better food hygiene standards. This way global people won’t dismiss the "wanting to try taste of Indian food because of the dirty factors that are being witnessed and shared all over the social media platforms" how embarrassing in having such an audacity in creating a content promoting dirty food consumption. This is sad. 😢😮/

I once came across a person in India who didn't eat food with his hands. Instead, he used his feet whenever he ate, street food or otherwise. It wasn't about tradition though... He was born without arms. He , infact is an accountant.

We love street food because its freshly cooked and its very cheap. Since Americans doesn’t have these they eat tjose frozen foods with lots of preservatives.
