For those wondering about the dog and cows and camper, they were fine👍🏼 the water didn’t get any higher than what was shown in this video, and I checked on them later after the water receded.
Some country boys lost their lives and it was no fault of their lack of skills. However, they surely understood the earth’s power is greater than any man. Pour out a little beer/coffee & smash a cigarette out for all life lost to this biblical-level disaster.
8:51 Seriously. This boys just have that equipment to do it themselves. Looks like they cleared that in around an hour. Also I have never seen two trucks chained together like a train.
Some people wait for help. Then, there are these guys! These guys are awesome! They prepared, then helped themselves, then helped others. I want to hang out with them!
They have large machines and make a joke out of everything. Wearing sandals and trudging through debris filled flood waters is idiotic, and those that follow them are likely to be among the outrageous death toll that this storm created.
Good job indeed. However, I don't exactly have room in the city to park those massive trucks. Nor would I have any use for them under normal circumstances. 🙂
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!! You're a very resilient young man with the knowledge of how to take care of yourself and family and friends!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!
Men with guts, men with know-how and skills, men with trucks, men with foresight to be aware and prepare. God love you all ! Your families are fortunate. Praying for everyone in NC, TN, GA, VA SC, FLA
I could only hope to have a Neighbor/friends with toys like yours..!! Thank you for restoring my belief in mankind! I've been watching people yelling for help while in fact, so many of us could do more, especially if we live out there! And your sustainable for "however long it takes" you, and what I assume must be a team, are my hero's.
I thought of your military truck in the river video when I saw the flooding. Was not disappointed to see you clear the road in a Hunter way! Glad you weathered the storm and my heart goes out to the many folks in desperation from the loss of homes and towns.
Amidt of all the sadness Hunter and his BEAST OF A TRUCK made me smile. You guys define what a good man is. With some superpowers! Fantastic job out of sheer determiantion!
That's a bad comment. Women are working their arses off. They just aren't doing the heavier labor work. Many have children , still have to try and salvage Anything through the rubble , find food and water for the men working. , Praise them maybe too???
Thank God you're okay I've been worried sick knowing you had to be real close to ground zero. Hang in there brother Hope you have enough supplies to last you cuz the surrounding area is shut down.
Are they actually already trying to bulldoze down town with not even checking trees for remains? So much information coming out you dont know what to believe. Im in lexington myself.
There were some guys like you in my area. I don't know who they were or how to thank them for chopping up the trees that fell. You guys are great. Thank you.
Glad you and your neighbors came out okay. I have a sister in Ashville that is not doing well. You have some incredible equipment to get those jobs done. Good job guys.
That dog was on the only dry land. Crazy footage man I'm in central NC. I know nobody really expected this I know I didn't. Be safe man. I hope you're ok
With all due respect, how can you you say, "nobody expected this" ? I'm a couple thousand miles away and I watched the weather channel and I knew what was coming for Florida and up into the Appalachian mountains. And the low pressure system that parked itself over Western NC and E. Tenn presented a huge problem before this fast moving storm ran up the Appalachians.
@@EmM-zy2zuWere you really expecting flooding to this extent? Many of those creeks and rivers haven't seen that much water in recorded history. The Pigeon River in Newport, TN peaked at 30.55 feet on the USGS gauge. In early September that same creek was running at around 2.3 feet on that gauge. Its cubic feet per second measure was off of the scale that tops out at over 47,000 CFS. The NWS action stage is 6 feet and major flood stage is 12 feet there. The gauge on the French Broad River, also in Newport, surpassed its 84,900 CFS gauge limit and reached a maximum of 24.3 feet. From my own rough extrapolation based on the USGS graphs, close to 100,000 CFS wasn't impossible for the highest flow on it. In early September that one was at 1,000 CFS and 1.5 feet. For comparison, the average rafting trip through the Grand Canyon sees 8,000 to 15,000 CFS. Even the Colorado River is exceptional at 100,000 CFS, there are videos from when that happened in the Grand Canyon on TH-cam. Newport is on the other side of the mountains from this video, but it was the same storm and that's where I happened to already have the official USGS data for.
@EmM-zy2zu re read my comment if you are confused. I work 2 jobs. And no. Overall nobody I know saw this coming. Maybe me and everyone I know work to hard so we didn't know. Smart ass
hey Man, thanks for the very informative report. I’m in East arm. not far from you. Out town. Newport got partially flooded and water system taken down. They had it all back up in a week. I’m like you, I really feel for those folks that didn’t do well or even didn’t make it. I have close friends in Asheville and they all got hit pretty hard. Take Care…
Thank you for the videos. And thank you and your fellow volunteers for working as a community to clear the roads. There are way more good people in this country than bad. You guys really know what you are doing with the heavy vehicles. Pretty amazing to a city boy like me. God bless you and your family and all who are helping.

I'm a few miles north of ya, in TN. It started raining with hail stones on Tuesday, and didn't let up until after the hurricane passed. The stormed blew over some very large trees on my land. Even though we had 8 to 9 inches of rain, we didn't see much flooding. The one thing to look for are arrowheads that will sit on top of sandbars. I was working on a song before the storm hit, "I live in the state of erosion", which was about this insane culture.
